I feel like UK will get him but I don't think it will be right away since he has said we will consider taking other visits
Do you think Cal would wait on Duren's decision since he has an offer or take Kofi if he wants to commit?

I've seen quite a few that are cringing at the thought of 2 bigs on the court together instead of 4-5 shooters. Rebounding is a huge part of the game too and points in the paint play a large part in championships.
Valid point.

I’m a big fan of the 4 out system, but it’s not the only system that works.

i don’t think we are in a position to wait tbh. It’s important for our players to know the composition of the team and what they are battling for. Also we need to get a full team working now together. A major excuse for last years debacle was the lack of summer practice. Well we are halfway in and still trying to add players. Either he will come quickly or I believe not at all. Also watch out for Texas

Because it doesn’t work anymore. The game has evolved to shooting it.
It’s not true that it doesn’t work anymore, neither the Bucks or the Sixers really live and die by the 3, both teams are championship contenders every year in the NBA which is even more offensive.

Virginia wins the ACC every other year without a good offense at all.

Yet the biggest reason we need the summer work is because we have relied on primarily freshman in most years. This year not so much. We will have way more experience than we have had in the Cal era. Sure some of them are new to the program. But we won't have to teach a Jr second team all American how to play in college ball. If we get duren instead it would be a much bigger deal to get him here as early as possible

I like the 1 in and 4 out, but if you land O and Kofi to give us 13 players I am just fine with O and Kofi out there with 3 really good shooters. I think a lineup of these guys would be pretty dam imposing.

TyTy
Mintz
Grady
Oscar
Kofi
That’s the starting five I have been projecting since Cockburn became a possibility.

It will be Wheeler in the starting lineup sooner rather than later. He does several things better than Mintz and will average more than double the assists. Mintz shoots it better but that's not a difference maker on this team. I like Mintz but am a little surprised he came back for these very reasons.

LOL at the thought of him going back to Illinois, that program has been picked clean since the season ended.

Also, here's what the NBA most likely told Kofi: "Look man, if you want to ever play in the NBA, just freaking go to UK, that’s what that program is there for, just go to UK".

Sounds to me like Cal, O and Chin have him all but locked up.

Between Duren and Cockburn, whichever one is the better COLLEGE player, is the one I want, hell with potential, give me the dude that can dominate his position in college right now. If that's Kofi, get him and don't look back.

The picture is getting very clear, with all these guys signing on, it's pretty obvious we're going to see some type of platoon situation. I can't see Mintz, Brooks, Ware, Allen or Fredrick coming here if they had to compete with they guys around them.

I like Wheeler with a second unit that doesn’t have two behemoths clogging the paint. I think he works better with a Toppin/Collins frontcourt. He needs room to drive and dish.

True but having quality bigs and quality shooters with an elite playmaker distributing the ball is a nightmare to defend. It's not like you can go wrong either way though!

I'm gonna disagree here. I think if it goes over a week, then Kofi is going elsewhere. I pay Zero attention to what these players say. Coach O and Chin will have Kofi here in a few days, they're too good not to.

Depends on how they feel about Duren. If they feel confident about landing a potential number one pick, they might try to slow play Cockburn.

I hope they take whoever wants to come first. I would hate to lose Cockburn while waiting for Duren.

I'm very intrigued to see how Cal can utilize two 260lb centers. This is more than just rebounding. Keep in mind that these two will likely clog the paint.

But it sounds like it's going to happen, it seems Oscar is fine with it, and if there's anyone who can pull this off, it's Cal. I'm ready to see it, even if that means I don't know how it works, exactly.

You don’t have to play them together if it doesn't work. We are already going to have to have at least a platoon like year. We have 12 dudes, 9 of which have played a year or more already and 3 freshman. And Washington will definitely be playing, as will Collins I imagine. So Cal can easily split them up if necessary.

I think the only way Cockburn does not come to UK is that Duren has given Cal and the staff a silent verbal.

Cockburn has to know his best chance to win THE championship is come to Kentucky. The amount of top shooters and scorers on this roster and with two powerful guys like Cockburn and Oscar the refs would have a hard time getting both out of the game. Those two together inside with all the good offensive players around them would keep the floor spaced for these two true bigs to work inside effectively.
