I know I have said for years that we need program guys, but I was thinking more along the lines of a Macio Teague, or a Cassius Winston, or a Jared Butler, Mark Vital, Livers or one of the other 50 seniors on Michigan's roster. I wasn't talking about bringing on a bunch of Slim Shady's. Yikes.

KSR/Matt Jones have been pushing this as very likely since January. Seems like it's a pretty good chance to happen.

I think Cal is friends with one of Frederick’s relatives. Attended their wedding or something like that.

Imagine him and AD in an eyebrow loaded frontcourt

I'm laughing out loud at all you hypocrites who have spent the last six months crying about Kentucky having no shooters and how Cal only recruits "athletes" not "basketball players."

And at the first suggestion that Kentucky might be adding as a bench player a kid who shot 47.4 percent from 3, in a major conference, you knee-jerk whine in the other direction: "He's not athletic! Who will he guard?!"

It would be great to celebrate if we weren't in need of starting guards that could make a difference. No offense to CJ but that's not who he is.

No you’re not. You’re not laughing out loud about anything. Per usual, you’re just being dramatic with another awful and out of touch take.

Frederick is only a Sophomore.

He'll never be an NBA player, so we'll have him for at least

2 years, maybe 3 if he wants to use the extra covid year.

I say sign him up. I think Cal's wants him because he knows

he'll be a multi year player.

We’ve got 13 scholarships. Say why don’t we do something different and use them all!
So tired of 10 with guys out injured and hearing we don’t have enough scholarship players to go 5 on 5.
Get some of these standout local kids in there. Let them develop.
Powell and Traynor should already be there from last year.
That stuff drives me insane when Cal days it. As if there's nothing he could do about it. Use all those scholarships, help some kids get a free education, if nothing else.

There was once a guy from Kentucky who was a slow guard at UK that couldn't guard a corpse. I remember him making a big shot in the NCAA tournament. Low and behold we went on to win a national championship because in part, due to his efforts.

Not sure whatever happened to him. This was probably 23 years ago.

Im trying to be less sarcastic. My bad. I don't know who you are talking about. Congrats to him. I wish UK would have won more games this year,

If this turns out to be CJ Fredrick, I'll be very excited! There has never been a Kentucky team in history win a title without a Kentucky born shooter contributing. He's not a star but we don't need him to be. Play the Lee Humphrey role at Florida or Cameron Mills role. Those guys were also limited contributors early in their careers, but they have an undeniable skill that eventually broke through as they got older and stronger. Teams that win titles have those guys to pair with their stars. Provided that this is just a piece of the roster reconstruction and not its conclusion (it won't be), than can't think of any downside in this move.

It seems kind of reasonable to leave 1 open. For instance, we likely couldn't have gotten Oscar this year if all 13 were tied up.

CJ was born in Cincinnati....
