You guys have allowed one bad season to overtake all of the good that Cal has brought to Uk. All of the elite players that have ran through this program with KP and WWW being Cal's wingmen. I'm not advocating for people to be sunshine pumpers and act like this is acceptable at Uk, but some of you are showing your true identity in wanting instant gratification and think you're entitled to greatness every single season and every single game.
I'm not saying we shouldn't want to win every single game, obviously we should, but I'm rather talking to the one's who want Cal fired after all of the good he has done for us by simply pushing that aside and thinking only in the present.
Now, could my opinion change if next season is worse or the same? Yes. It will start to change, but even then 2 bad seasons doesn't equate to being fired with the milestones and achievements he has accomplished here thus far.
I do feel like we are beginning to see his true inability to coach late game situations. We don't have the talent to bail us out late game when things are not going our way. That is certainly something Cal could improve on. Especially with the talent coming in next year not looking outstanding. That is something he will have to change because right now other coaches are coaching circles around him in the final 8 minutes. I think part of that is the absence of Kenny Payne. I do think he did a lot, or suggested a lot of the in-game adjustments.
Overall, the same ones who want him fired are the same ones who would be calling him the GOAT if we won out from here. It all comes down to entitlement. It seems like some of your lives depend on Uk winning or losing.
Obviously he has said a lot of stupid crap this season and has handled the Allen situation poorly, but after the first few games, Allen looks very one-dimensional. He can shoot, and then what? He certainly can't play defense.
Anyways, those are my thoughts. Some of ya'll need to look in the mirror, lol. I'm no sunshine pumper by any means, and the season we are having is beyond horrible, but it is completely unreasonable and rather selfish to want Cal fired after this season when he has brought a lot of us our greatest moments.
