You're spot on my Big Blue friend, spot on.
It's truly mind boggling at the lengths the Cal apologists will go, in a vain attempt to try to portray him as some kind of super coach; the only, and best guy for the job in their warped viewpoint.
I'll never understand how a fan of UK can accept the results we're seeing and say it's an aberration. IT'S NOT. How is it possible for any UK fan to NOT see the decline over the past 5 years? UK should NEVER lose to mid majors at the clip we're seeing. An upset is always just over the horizon for any team, that's a given and you just have to accept it and go on, but it's becoming routine now, all because our coach flat *** refuses to adapt, to build a roster the right way, to play his darling 5 star NBA wannabes over guys on the bench who might/can help the team.
I honestly believe Cal sees himself as some sort of guru, that he's so far above the average fan in his knowledge of the game that he has this incredible disdain for the fan base. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: it's a damn GAME. It's not as though one has to work through string theory to understand how to coach a basketball game.
Nothing would please me more, and I dare say all UK fans, than for Cal to come out and say "Hey look, I screwed up, I need to begin building a roster that will have us back where we belong: at the top of the basketball world. I'm going to bring in new assistants to help implement a better offensive scheme and work harder to develop these guys. I'm going to redouble my efforts to get us back on top. I now see the mistakes I've made and I'm going to work my *** off to correct them and get us back on top. I'm also going to work to be more respectful, and understanding of our great fans, and I'll ensure that I, and my team, keep politics out of our program."
If he would do that, I dare say we all would get behind him........but we all know he won't, it's not in him to anything like that because he truly thinks he's above reproach. Since he won't make the necessary changes, he needs to leave at the end of the season.
