Don't know. Typically lose or ruin most of them before I pass out that night.
Since this week is a wash I guess I'm the only Kentuckian who doesn't give a rip if Churchill opens or not? Sure, CHDN may get a bump in share price and the state can bank some off-site gambling revenue, so what. Does nothing for the local mom & pop stores that make their year charging ******** from across the country 3x their normal price for some driftwood signs and bourbon laced accouterments.
And if we can't play hooky all week getting our daily drink on at the chow wagon, steamboat race, parade, trackside / backside / Dawn at the Downs, finally to dress up like some obnoxious pastel Kentucky Colonel these next three days, then leave the horses in the stable until folks can attend in person.

I care if Churchill Downs is open, but mostly because, you know, that’s where the actual Derby race is held.

Friday / Saturday / Sunday - Gulfstream - Oaklawn - Tampa Downs
Man, eff some Los Alamitos and Remington Park. Just can't bring myself to bet on quarter horses. Seeing Palomino horses trotting out to race is just weird AF to me.
Have made some coin betting Fonner and WRD. Gulstream can go get fuked. Have took a beating there. Too much chalk for my liking. Several exactas and trifectas cashing for less than $20.

-Every day I live through the pandemic, I'm a year closer to saying "F" it, selling everything, move to South Bluffton, buy a couple of boats, and open up Huber's Crabbing Charters & Coastal Cruises on the May River. Lives too short for this bullsh*t.

-Was planning on getting a new truck/suburban-type vehicle this year, pricing keeps dropping. Thinking about holding another month or two. Any Lexington car dudes on here? Need something big enough that its 179 compliant.
-Drive-thru strip clubs. Put that in the "Ideas I thought up in 2001" file.
-College Football season....... Please happen. It's the only bright spot I had to look forward to in 2020. F U 2020.

This nostalgia always takes me back to some favorite Derby’s Eve traditions:
1. Pre-Oaks brunch with your best friends.
2. Betting every race with a Mint Julep in your hand.
3. Coaxing your generous boss to pick up the tab on a limo to chauffeur you and your buddies around the Highlands and then blacking out and busting his bedroom door down later that evening in a fit of rage.

Not giving AF if racing going on in our state (and home city) by reason of not being able to bonzo bounce around on premises is incredibly ridiculous...for too many reasons to mention.
Pretty sure our beloved Churchill, town, & marquee industry have suffered enough (along with anyone else who's been shut down)
Also, the horses aren't in the stable. They're offsite at random storage facilities. My golf partner & family haven't left their barn in 40+ years until this ****.

BBdK always took his game up another level Derby week. That limo night he was making out with some smoke and a year later he had some girl at @mosphere. He was always all about the drama, though.
Funny thing on that limo night. I ended up running into my now brother-in-law at Molly’s and cabbing out to some UofL bar with him at 4 a.m. Didn’t even know him very well back then.
Always spent at least $50 a night on cabs anytime I came to Louisville.

-My best Derby story involves me walking into a pole on Btown after leaving the crew at PHT/Pygmies, falling down, getting helped into a 'gypsy cab' with 2 BBW, and paying double the agreed upon fare for an extra service one of them offered in transit.
A lifetime ago, but I can play that one back amazingly clear, given my state.

Typical cab fare is about 25 bucks, but if you can get a ride home AND a handy from a fat black chick for 50 — you have to jump on that offer. Every single time.
My kids and their friends are gathering pitchforks to storm the capitol.
