That tweet may make some of the die hard Trump Train's heads explode.

It's amazing how much the restriction lifting plan changed my mood last night. He really should have thrown the mask in with last nights announcements instead of before, I think a lot of people would have been more open to it if they knew there was a date to get back to some normalcy.

After the last month a Memorial Day cookout with a few friends will feel like a vacation.

Let's not forget that Taiwan has had only 6 deaths because they told the Commies to GTFO ASAP. And the World Health Organization won't even say the country's name.

Is there a more hit or miss drink than the Bloody Mary? 80% pure heaven for a hangover...20% pure liquid ****. It’s a roll of the dice when ordering one out.

Quit ordering them at gas stations and get one at a nice bar/eats.

Or simply learn to make them yourself.

All this mask wearing and hand sanitizing and presumably in a few months we are going to unleash a bunch of kids that have been on lockdown back into schools, the most asymptomatic carriers of our population and the absolute least likely to observe social distancing or germ spreading precautions. Those little disease carriers are going to return to their homes and the curve will not be flat anymore.

It would almost be better to start slowly opening up things and slow burn this thing through the public (protecting the vulnerable) before this happens, right?

Unless of course there is a magic “ding dong the virus is dead” date that I’m unaware of.

Trump is in a no-win now. He really was all along but now it's hitting critical mass for him. Fauci was an early WHO shill, Trump (despite his inane ramblings and idiotic sound bites) has more or less followed Fauci and now that it's becoming more and more evident the WHO is just a Chinese puppet, they are boxed in hoping Sweeden has a massive spike in deaths so they can say, see - told you so. Which, imo, is the saddest part of human existence today; that we can't even put aside our possible mistakes for something no one was ready for because it's become so GD heavily politicized as a weapon.

I checked Bovada and I don’t see any action available on the Virtual Derby. I suppose because we all know Secretariat would blow away the field?
Whatever, I don’t want to gambol on virtual sports.

Wodie, MattsCats or others... What tracks are running this weekend? I need some tips. I’m dying for some action.

Explained to the lass the morning that just because the ponies aren’t running under the Twin Spires doesn’t mean we can’t be in the Derby spirit this first Saturday in May.

It’s going be 78 and sunny and the plan is to fire up the tunes & grill early in the pm and pack the cooler to the brim with ice cold domestos. Maybe get frisky and make some choice cocktails. Going to let the little lassies run wild in the yard. Touch you, Corona.

The Friday before the Derby, I always make sure to treat myself to these....

Two of the finest pieces of sportswriting ever, from a time when the journalists were real men. When they went on the road with athletes, and coziest up to their sources at the hotel bar, getting stories one stiff drink at a time. When writing was a true art form. You think these two legends would be caught dead tweeting out SJW nonsense and whining about late nights and tight deadlines on their social media accounts today?

I think f'ing not.

Oaklawn, Gulfstream, Tampa and Los Alamitos. Speaking of Los Al, those are some sneaky fun ones. 4 1/2F. Quick, 50-secondish races and usually good pots.
But, bbdk can attest to this, too: F Florida tracks.

So, basically, you'll have racing from noon until 9PM Saturday.

Huge weekend & Saturday card at Oaklawn bub, Arkansas Derby.

Man, I've been absolutely *murking* Will Rogers & Fonner. I love those little dumps. Can't imagine the boon they (and even Oaklawn and Gulfstream) are experiencing through all of this. Harmon said some of them are up over double...not to mention the newfound national name recognition with everyone betting tracks they'd had never even given the slightest look before.

I don't bet them that much, but I love watching the Quarter Horses at Remington & Los Al. Those mothertouchers flyyyyyyyyyyyy, and the races are nearly always close and exciting.

-ZingZang is the *only* commercial Bloody Mix. Get real.

Liking that back to back divisions in the Arkansas derby. (actually race 11 and race 13)

The entire card will be broadcast on FoxSports1 and TVG. Part of the card, including the stakes races, will be shown on NBC Sports from the TVG feed

Private Selection kills ZingZang. Don’t be a stubborn fool.

This isn’t about being right, it’s about helping my Wildcat friends

Weather forecast for this Derby Weekend would have been the best of this millennium because of course.

Secretariat should be an odds-on favorite in this “virtual” race, but Citation opened at 8-1 which I thought was good value. Can’t imagine betting a computer simulated anything.

Interested to see Charlatan in the Arkansas Derby. Concerned about distance limitations, but he can fly. He’s definitely in the easier “division” of this split field. That second division has some proven runners.

-Happy Thurby. Hate the name, love the day, basically.

-Took Oaks Day off. Like, literally PTO. I figured it was the honorable thing to do with my employer as I haven't really taken any time (officially) since the start of all of this.

Yard work. Smoked meats. Good time oldies. Collides. LFG.

-The Seed (2.0) came up on my Spotify this morning. Been years since I've heard it... love that one.

-12:30 tee time Saturday.

-I like a bloody mary on a plane. Somewhat indifferent to them otherwise. I dealt with esophageal erosion in my late 20's so throwing a bunch of acidic tomato juice and vodka down my throat is just something I'm a little hesitant to do at times.

-Mattscatts Vegas flight post made me think about how much I can actually drink in Vegas. Probably my favorite thing about the place. Once you hit your stride, it's just a nice steady *serious* buzz. Worship.

-Like March Madness being canceled saved Cal from another flameout, no Derby spared Anth from another expensive fashion mistake. Silver lining for the birthday boy.

-Derby means to hang those jeans up for the season, rich.

-Scott Satterfield is such a *****. Stoops' comment about his L's down complaint was perfect. Unfortunately it seems those two respect each other otherwise. I like some head coach disdain in my blood rivalries.

-Terry MF Wilson is my QB.

On the way back from the UK vs UL game this past November I was listening to Stoops’ postgame interview with Leach. It’s refreshing to hear a head coach of a Power 5 be so candid instead of the typical canned bs.

The quote about Satterfield complaining was good as was Stoops telling Leach that in a roundabout way that the ACC was a pile of soft **** in the trenches and anyone that watches football can tell the major discrepancy between the 2 conferences.

  • Jell-O shots are the worst; not sure why anybody ever got excited about that stuff. Seems like there's always some chick who acts like she discovered the cure for Covid-19 when she walks into a party with Jell-O shots, "Look what I made! They're blue and in the shape of cat's paws!!!" [eyeroll]
  • I like mimosas and screw drivers instead of Bloody Mary's. But an ice cold Miller Lite at 8:30 AM to start Derby is my current preference.
  • Your $100K+ / year guy - unless he's working in the agriculture, health care (maybe) or grocery industry, is gonna take a significant haircut this year - if he's even lucky enough to keep his job.
  • I get that it's crazy in hospitals right now and testing drug treatments take a long time and need to be randomized, but Ho Lee ***, can a few hospitals not provide data on the condition, age, treatment and outcome for hospitalized people? You should be able to infer some sort of perspective from that as to what's effective.
  • Still would like to know where the 30K people per day in the US are getting Covid. Maybe a few examples would be helpful.

Jello shots are fine.

I mean, kind of a pain in the *** to make and haul around, but I’m not gonna turn them down. Was fun when you could be social, very popular in the boating community.

-Brooks just despises that at UK he was known for all things Derby then he came here and all the sudden was having to play second fiddle to a guy that ACTUALLY grew up in the shadows of Churchill. I get it. Its hard. Knock my fashion, little bitchboi, but I was actually going to ask to borrow that white jacket this year... for Oaks of course.

-Having a hard time putting on a happy face though. Going to give it my best effort but the times my birthday falls on late Derby week have just been special. Should be headed for a great dinner tonight, 9a bus ride to Oaks, 10a bus ride to Derby, singing the night away with the crew and offending large groups of people all along the way.

-May try my hand at a mint julep or 2. Plan on dropping some money to refresh the TS account, $250 got me this far through quarantine. I'll gambol on the f*cking Arkansas Derby on the first Saturday in May I suppose. Both races of the Arkansas Derby, that is.

-I love when abh and I are together and we go full degenerate mode. Betting and letting it ride on every next race regardless of track. "Next race 2 furlong sprint at Dixie, LFG!!"

-why haven't we been running horses in Kentucky the last 8 weeks? What a disgrace.

-Did manage to workout 29 of 30 days this month. So that's nice.

-If that waiver doesn't go through our fat wop better earn that uninterrupted 9 million per year by finding a capable 5.

Got engaged at Hogan’s Fountain on this date - 26 years ago. Great Boat Race and whatnot.

Big Green Egg is replacing my old one due to crack in ceramic. That’s mighty neighborly... but was kinda making the pitch to wife that that Yoder badass was needed due to the villains over at BGE. Oh well, save the $1800.

Getting my taste/smell back incrementally. Holding steady at 85%. Counterpoint, I faintly smell my Rhodesian Ridgeback’s *** breath again. Doctor said 8 weeks, I’m at 6 since KungFlu bit me.

making Chicken Parm tonight.

Anxiously awaiting my DownHome Toasted that’s on a UPS truck somewhere.

We are gonna be a tough out in FB next year with chip squarely placed on Terry’s shoulders. If dude didn’t have skinny Ed Davender ankles, I’d be a bit more confident.

Tennessee with #6 FB recruiting class for next year. We could’ve put the dagger in that shitstain program and FAILED.

~"boating community"

~Wynn reserved for the 4th while watching how they do in June. Pool, bloodys, fireworks, and even limited table action will be a helluva lot better than watching Andy's **** show destroy KY's celebration.

~Baffled at the restaurant industry getting the shaft.

~Golf in full swing the last few weeks has been a saving grace. The new rules are actually not hurting at all. The Bull allows this now: intimate relationships not living together can ride in the same cart. Cawood...we are good for the same cart now.

~8 episodes into Ozark...holding my interest but damn if there aren't a ton of character story lines.

~2 new selections for me and the price is right...Russell's Reserve 10 yr....better than expected and will keep some of this in the cabinet going forward. Appleton Estate Rum....excellent.

~Mowing every 3rd day is already old.

~The first few seasons of Two and a Half Men were as funny as anything ever.

Stay safe and sane. We'll get thru this together...[sick]
