Who does Evan Daniels have landing kuminga? This 50% undecided vs 25% duke vs 25% lsu. Seems to me duke has skid down trending. Odd. I thought for sure he was durham bound. Did we get ourselves in perfect position to land him? Brown out? 100%

He should be a good compliment to Whitney.

I have no idea whether this news is true or not, but the board would have reacted with just as much skepticism if someone had posted this about Kevin Knox a few days or even a week before he COMMITTED to UK. Don't assume the sources are bs because the only one who knows for certain is Kuminga and maybe his parents. EJ wants out and good luck to him. He isn't an NBA player now, and he may never be. So best of luck to EJ and whoever else leaves before they're ready. Let's hope we fill the holes in what could be a great team if we do. Kuminga would be a great get in that endeavor!

Kuminga is the type of wing forward UK has never really had. Mercer was more finesse. Mashburn was less athletic but more skilled as a passer and shooter. Prince wasn't as explosive. MKG was not nearly as offensively gifted.

He's the type of player who has eluded Cal his entire coaching career - the elite wing forward who projects as a future All-Star.
Didn’t play for Cal, but Kelenna Azabuike was a bad *** on the wing. Injuries derailed what could’ve been a great career.

OP has a history of trying to pass as some sort of insider. Proven wrong every time. He loves to throw crap against the wall with the hope something sticks. If a miracle happens and Kuminga commits to UK, he'll praise his insider status. Thats how it works with trolls.

Yeah, that's a thought. If we did land Kuminga, we'd have 3 extremely talented players that are all NBA material and 6'7'' or 6'8''. Add in Jackson, Haarms and Brooks, and that leaves us with very questionable outside shooting. Besides maybe Boston and Askew, where is the outside shooting going to come from? Brooks' shot looked to be much improved against UF in that final game comeback and Jackson supposedly is decent from out to about 15 feet, but unless Boston and Askew are deadly shooters, who picks up the 3-P shooting of IQ? In 2012 we had Lamb and Miller to keep teams from zoning us to death.

One other thought. If Brown's father really called Cal to say that UK was his son's second choice, my feeling is that Cal would have wanted to get really ugly, but instead exercised class and self-control. We are not going to be used again by Brown or anyone else with the hat on the table routine. My guess is that call made Cal very determined to go out and recruit someone better than Brown: Kuminga maybe? My guess is Cal would have told Brown's Dad that we have other offers out to some great players and whoever commits first gets the scholarship. I think that if that happened, Brown may want to rethink watching UK in the FF next year with his son watching the NCAAT from home when Texas fails to even make the tournament. Food for thought? It does make sense.

He created an out for himself too. How convenient.

As the Roster Turns. My favorite soap opera.

Cal seems to always give off that "we got this" vibe. Maybe he's about to work some magic.

Wouldn't think he would do that anymore. Too many setbacks in recruiting, developing players and holding on to them.

I'll say this about Kuminga:

Not a single person on this board or the national media thought/predicted us to land Bam Adebayo, Kevin Knox, or even Julius Randle for that matter (he was supposedly a 'Kansas lock'"

Just because there's no rumors flying around doesn't mean much IMO.

That being said, there is a fair bit of wishful thinking going on over here

We've been left at the altar so many times that I don't think a little pipe dreaming will hurt us.

I still remember the day I was teaching my students outside when a friend gave me the news about Wiggins picking Kansas. And then there was the Friday night when Jaylen Brown supposedly picked Kentucky. The list goes on when it comes to losing out on elite wing forwards.

If Kuminga goes elsewhere, it will be what it will be. But if he delivered a miracle by picking Kentucky, it would be a recipe long-deserved for a BBN fanbase that has been scorched at the altar of wing forwards far too many times.

We're overdue for some good news on that front.

There’s more of a chance that Zion withdraws from the NBA and comes to Kentucky than Kuminga coming to Kentucky. Trust

Is this a shot at me? I've never claimed to be an expert/insider. Ever. I share what I get from a friend who is very connected. It's why I rarely post about recruiting unless I know things. Not sure what I did to catch this shot, but you are 100% incorrect in assessment of my post history.

Please, please, please don’t let the dummies scare you off. It’s obvious to anyone with half a brain that you are connected.
