I came across a very interesting article this morning. Pretty much goes scorched earth on Zion. Decent read.
I know it sounds as crazy as it did when I started posting it years ago, but he's playing the wrong sport. He should be playing football.
He doesn't even get fat really, he's just a gigantic human that's incredibly explosive. He basically plays football on the hardwood anyway
I said it and said it, Zion isn’t going to be the force so many believed. I argued someone on here for over a year about it and I can’t remember who it was. When I know I’m going scorched earth.
I, too, thought he was going to have a short career, with bad knee problems and being overweight.
But he DID post a 27/7/4 year last year.. while still shooting 30% from the 3 and posting 62% on other FGs. He was a MIP candidate, and he likely didn't win because he was just a sophomore, who already posted 22 and 6 as a rookie.
27/7/4 on 61% shooting for a 20 year old is pretty got damn good. Odd to thump your chest over a prediction with production like that, morg.I said it and said it, Zion isn’t going to be the force so many believed. If he can’t stay healthy playing basketball he ain’t staying healthy playing football.I know it sounds as crazy as it did when I started posting it years ago, but he's playing the wrong sport. He should be playing football.

I thought he was playing pretty well last year. He appeared to have trimmed down.
Gotta love the "pyscho parent" part. How is this always a thing when it comes to parenting and recruiting?

Not necessarily. The problem ain’t impact with other players, instead it’s the hardcourt impact from the constant running and jumping while carrying all that weight. If he can’t stay healthy playing basketball he ain’t staying healthy playing football.
lol, he is only three years in and has maybe played one full slate of a season's worth of games... he could still have a short career...I, too, thought he was going to have a short career, with bad knee problems and being overweight.

Except that its source for that was “anonymous post on Reddit”, which is really no source at all.A lot of interesting takes. I thought the thing that stood out in the article the most was 'psycho parents'....
That’s what makes him eat?Football doesn't require you to continuously jump and land on hardwood. That repeated high impact at his weight seems to be what's causing his issues.
That’s what makes him eat?
True, and I never said the article was fact. I just saw it and found it interesting because a lot of people on here have had the same outlook as the article.Except that its source for that was “anonymous post on Reddit”, which is really no source at all.
That’s no more credible than if it were quoting one of our posts here. It’s a silly article.

He would be a great TE imo. Or even a defensive lineman with his explosiveness.I know it sounds as crazy as it did when I started posting it years ago, but he's playing the wrong sport. He should be playing football.

This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen reference to zion's walk, and bad knees. What exactly does he do that leads you to this conclusion?I don’t think a person can walk like he does and keep healthy knees. Not long term.
What position do you put a guy like him at? Defensive end? He's extremely thick in the lower body. You can tell he isn't allowed to lift, because that would add even more weight albeit via muscle.
If he was allowed to embrace his freakish size and then that mass into muscle, combined with his explosion he'd be unstoppable on the football field

Yeah D line somewhere for sure, I think keeping him down around 290-300 and putting him as an edge rusher could be devastating, though bulked up to 320 he'd also be a load as a tackle in a 4:3 set.I think so or an Aaron Donald type DT. Dude could probably get to 320 with zero issue. He has an explosion that is ultra elite and enjoys contact.
