I wasn't sure if the OP had legitimate interest.DJ, Wise answer.
Man, that's a complicated answer to your question.Answer: Zamar Wise had a signing day ceremony at Barringer on Wednesday, coordinated by his head coach Dwayne Williams. Apparently, they were given the go-ahead on the ceremony, while some of the logistics are still being worked out.
Technically, it was more of a commitment affirmation than actual signing, as Wise did not sign a national letter of intent. The staff still covets Wise and his athletic tools, but he still has some academic work to do. Rutgers is working with him and his support system to get him qualified, and he's close enough to make it in.
I've also been told the staff will hold on to his scholarship, as he'll add great value to the program. However, the staff can't risk having a recruit sign a LOI without being 100 percent sure he'll qualify -- especially after its experience with Juwan Mitchell, who signed but returned to Butler junior college, after falling one class short.
If Wise were to sign and not make it in, Rutgers would lose the scholarship, which would count against its 25 initial counters, whether he qualifies or not.
Wise is committed to Rutgers with a chance to make it to campus this summer. However, it will take coordination, planning and focus down the stretch to get it done.

Blue Shirt most likely for Wise and Ugwu. From what I heard blue shirts can not have official visit to the school and will also not count against the 25 limit. They do not sign LOI but can be put on scholarship at the start of practice. They can practice but can’t play, just like a redshirt.

Didn’t wise official here? He was commited for over a year wasn’t he. Also do blue shirts count against the following year classes?
The fact that the LOI deadline is about to pass doesn't mean that he can't accept a ship later.Brought it up because today is the deadline, after that he would have to get some sort of JUCO like assistance Ship..but hopefully RU isnt on hook for a Ship counting to the class total now..
Seems Murky at best..
Not necessarily true at all. With the right support system in place such as tutors etc. as well as an inner drive to succeed, any kid can be as much a winner in the classroom as he is on the field if he wants it bad enough and applies himself. Hopefully he will get that opportunity at Rutgers. If he can’t pass high school, will he ever really contribute at RU? Can’t imagine he’ll have an easier time in college while being a student athlete
You are saying..he got his grades for a fact?
And if it doesn't work out but he looks to be a talented player - he can always transfer to UNC or a lower level SEC school. Not necessarily true at all. A blue shirt can not sign or be sent a LOI, nor can they take an official visit. They count toward the following year. As Zach said, they can practice and go on scholarship at freshmen camp. Wise gave a verbal commitment but did not sign a formal LOI, as far as I understand.Didn’t wise official here? He was commited for over a year wasn’t he. I have my sources but can’t tell you their names . I think you can respect that.Where’d you hear that?
I’m good with that. But you’ll have to forgive me if I hold off on the ticker tape until it’s official.I have my sources but can’t tell you their names . I think you can respect that.
Same here, need to have Wise officially made part of the program and not count on it till then.I’m good with that. But you’ll have to forgive me if I hold off on the ticker tape until it’s official.
