What are the chances that Calipari deep down is simmering to the boiling point. He knows they target certain coaches and schools and he is on the wrong side of it. Tarkanian got paid 2 million is his harassment lawsuit against the NCAA. Larry Brown, Cal and a few others should sue because if the NCAA in Cal's case is getting their panties in a wad over a 500th win celebration, someone is being harassed and is a target.

hotelblue, how exactly has UNC been hurt when they just played for the national championship? That is sorta the point of recruiting and those players definitely were recruited within the last five years.
well they had players stay. and it took three years to (edit) develop. that's not good enough these days and roy knows it which is why he keeps whining. they needed to recruit better the last three years to stay out of the position they were in the last two years, and what could be the next couple.

Funny. This one doesn't bother long-time NCAA critic Jay Bilas one bit. smh

@tsnmike @jbohanis Easy and fraudulent are different. The UNC matter is an accreditation issue, not an NCAA issue.
Sold his soul to ESPN and the NCAA the moment he signed his new contract to take the number one commentator spot at ESPN. He is now just doing his job. A sleazy and unethical job.

I still don't understand. The reason they get off is because it's an academic issue and not an athletic issue but yet the women's basketball team still gets punished? That's ********. They all did the same thing so if you punish one team then you have to punish them all! Or else not punish any team. They can't just pick and choose when and who to enforce their dumbass rules on. Screw them.

I hope Emmert DIAF!:fire::eek::fire:

unc will still be good if not penalized. just not as good as kentucky, or duke or kansas. not with a cloud over head. i'm that's why the ncaa is trying to end this. it's like their testing public appeal with this before making something up. that's seriously how it looks.

Memphis: one student, one year, one questionable test score BEFORE college.

Vacated Final 4

UNC: hundreds of students, 2 decades, presumably thousands of fake tests, phony classes WHILE in college

No penalty

The NCAA is as consistent as UL is ethical.

You left out 3/4 of the story.

For starters it was the testing committee that voided Rose' score. Technically he was never a college student yet played on a college sports team. Didn't leave the ncaa much wiggle room there. You also left out the part where they were paying to fly his family from town to town. Memphis has no case to say a word to anyone.

I think they might have a bit of a case to complain. Why should they not be upset that they were punished for their violations, when it's looking pretty obvious that UNC will not be?

So if you are technically a college student, you can not technically participate in real college work and that is acceptable if you are technically enrolled and attending UNC.

The only fraud bigger than UNC is the NCAA. They will justify anything with any twisted logic they can spin, regardless of how little sense it makes. I knew UNC wouldn't be hit hard because they have friends in high places, which always pays off when you're a cheater. But I never dreamed they'd probably go unpunished. The only good that came out of this is the Carolina Way was exposed for what it really is: cheat to win and win at all costs. I hope the women's program puts up a fight and UNC has a civil war on their hands. Thank God Jenkins hit that shot.

I hope Cal comes out swinging. I hope he keeps throwing jabs at the NCAA. I hope a few others join him and they start a revolution and cause the NCAA to crumble.

I'm done with the NCAA if they skate. As many have stated prior, I'll follow Kentucky but that's it.

Georgia and Minnesota are a couple that stand out. Those cases blow Jay Bilas' poorly reasoned argument to pieces.

This amended NOA is beyond asinine. Men's BB not even mentioned. Many knew it was coming. If other schools want a fair shake, they need to take action.

First, don't schedule UNC in anything. This would be difficult for ACC teams, but perhaps band together for a boycott.

Second, the NCAA is beyond incompetent and too arbitrary. Time for schools to break away. No one governs the NCAA and they are running amok with ridiculous decisions at times and no decisions when they are needed and warranted. Break away and form a new governing body to keep college athletics in check.

This is beyond unbelievable. How UNC and Duke get away with cheating is amazing. What Cal had 2 Final Fours vacated for, doesn't hold a candle to what UNC and Duke have done with impermissible benefits. Geez.

I dumbed down 2 very complicated situations to a sentence apiece. But my point wasn't to validate Memphis. It was simply to contrast the attitude the NCAA has taken toward a vastly larger situation.

Quite simply the NCAA had no problem jumping on the Memphis violations and claiming "we had to follow the letter of the law". Fine. It is what it is. But With UNC they have shrugged their shoulders and washed their hands of the situation with hundreds of people over 20 years. It's sickening and if I was a fan of a school who recently had wins vacated for academically ineligible players (there was one within the last month, can't recall who) I would be absolutely livid.

The NCAA is just like NASCAR. They are the only game in town and if you don't want to play by their rules then go home. That is the attitude they have and if you have watched a NASCAR race recently you will have noticed the half empty bleachers because of it. The NCAA may find that to be the case for them soon as well.

If they were playing ineligible players, due to the fact they exceeded the number of independent courses set by UNC, how is that not an NCAA issue?
