This is a fun topic lol. First off, I have no idea what delta level pot is, and dont care to know. But I will say this, I work in VA right in the middle of the two richest counties in America. I dont see a lot of homeless people where I'm at. There is not a big drug problem here either, at least not nearly like WV. However, pot is 100% legal in VA and most people grow it themselves, legally. I work in houses that are on average probably 5 million plus. I would say roughly half of the people I work for smoke and grow pot. Most of them are political conservatives with good jobs and families. VA also has top notch healthcare, a good economy, great infrastructure, etc, etc. Things WV doesnt....
I do agree that pot doesnt belong in the same category as the harder drugs like meth. I think it belongs in the same category as alcohol, something that is rampant for addiction in WV and beyond as well but no one wants to talk about.
The drug problem in WV has a lot more to it than the laws on drugs. Those laws have failed, and we have failed. We have been trying for 40 years to try and get a handle on the drug problem in America, and yet its only ever gotten worse. When you look at a place like WV, its time to stop worrying about the fact that people use and start to figure why and how to fix it. WV is a depressed state. The economy sucks, the infrastructure sucks, the healthcare sucks, the business laws suck, our politicians suck, and so on and so forth. Even downtown Morgantown looks like a 3rd world country now. You can hardly drive those crappy streets. Nasty *** politicians there these days.
You want to fix the drug problem in a state like WV, you should consider not worrying about the drug laws that are broken every day regardless, and start fixing the things that make WV like a 3rd world country. I grew up in Morgantown and always loved that town. Its barely recognizable now. A fkn ********. The rest of the state is no better. Nothing will ever get better until the living conditions are fixed and kids grow up with a tiny bit of hope for a future in their home state.
Edit,
And it is very important to get a handle on the borders of our country if we want to take the drug epidemic seriously. If you arent willing to close the borders, then you simply dont care about the fentynal overdose deaths and the drug problem in general and to say otherwise is a lie lol.
