Yep. Exactly. They spent what 12/13 picks this past year in a draft that was lauded by EVERYONE as not being that deep. They scored a HUGE get in Hyde but they did nothing to deserve it. He just happened to fall to them. Should have bundled up the picks well before the draft to have gotten depth in DB or OL. Could have moved up in the first round and gotten the DB from VaTech that is starring for the bears. They sat there and goofed around with Boone, let his situation create drama and then signed him. So, you ended up with the same player but he was behind the learning curve. Then, with the OL injuries that occurred early in the season, there was no continuity. That helped create the offensive disaster that was (outside of the bipolar-ness of Roman).
The '14 class has some guys that are giving some good minutes but I just do not know that any of them will be 'studs'. More like great 2nd string players. Like Borland, Johnson and Lynch.
The '13 class is abysmal. I didn't even remember how bad until I looked it up. Eric Reid is the only one worth anything so far. Vance McDonald is a huge bust for a 2nd round pick. And, we have drafted rush ends in like 4 of the last 5 drafts.
