People will say AEW copied something from WWE even when it's something WWE copied from AEW.
Yeah that’s true but I mostly wouldn’t worry about that stuff. A lot of fans don’t have their own opinions. I had a buddy who hadn’t watched wrestling in like a decade but followed every episode of the Cornette experience. Hated everything about a product that he didn’t even watch lol. Barely knew the names of the wrestlers but knew all of the hateful nicknames Corny hands out. There’s no real conversation to be had with folks of that ilk. Same type of people who care more about who did something first rather than simply enjoying the show.

Gabe Kidd returned at NJPW Dominion today to enter the G1. Takeshita will also be in the G1. Takeshita retained the New Japan tv title. Andrade dropped the IWGP Global title in a three way against Drilla Moloney and new champion Shota Umino

In non-AEW news from the show, Knockout Bros dropped the tag titles to the United Empire, Yota Tsuji defeated Callum Newman to regain the IWGP title, YOU defeated DOUKI for the junior title, and Aaron Wolf defeated Red Narita for the NEVER Openweight title.

This is one ex-ROH guy I’m surprised Tony Khan never brought in for an appearance. One of the most widely respected and influential wrestlers from the 2000s.

I absolutely hate soccer, think it's one of the most boring sports there is. But, Sunday I decided to keep an open mind and give it another chance, and turned on one of the FIFA games (think it was in Dallas), Watched for 10min before realizing my opinion is still correct. However...I did see during those 10min the cameraman find WWEs Liv Morgan and show her for about 10 seconds.

For AEW fans to have credibility, I think it’s important for honest discussion. Everything AEW does isn’t great and everything WWE does isn’t awful. That kind of stuff only makes sure that anyone interested in checking out an episode of Dynamite will refuse to do so because of the negative interactions they had with gatekeepers they associate with the brand. Same concept applies to WWE to some extent, but WWE is an established household name already. Some AEW fans have no chill. I don’t think that’s a good thing.
I agree.

Im an AEW lean right now, but the terminally online AEW fan is the worst part of AEW fandom.

They still do silly bingo hall horse 💩 sometimes. Some of the multi-man tags go 2 segments too long. But other parts are really good.

Conversely, WWE has too many ads and grifts, TV matches are too short and new stars are rarely created. They work a safer style, and to many that style is boring. But other parts of WWE are entertaining and their production values will never be touched.

My point is it’s OK to criticize and enjoy each company. Tribalism is stupid and from my experience, the little brother in the UK/UL type dynamic is usually louder with the tribalism. In this case, AEW is fighting from underneath, and the fanbase sometimes acts like the company isn’t allowed to be questioned or it’s taken as a personal attack.

People on the internet got pissed that the announcers acted like they didn't know who she was lol

Remember when Dom was the hottest heel in WWE and ranked #1 for top 30 under 30 by ESPN? And that was before WWE and ESPN linked up.

Now he's doing interviews complaining about how WWE doesn't know what to do with him and having him get squashed.

Though I do admit that was the right result last night when taken in a vacuum, but seems like Dom has completely fallen out of favor on the main roster ever since beating Cena in November.
  • Lost a qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber
  • Had zero main roster matches in December then ended up getting injured at a AAA show near the end of the month. Looks like that held him out about 2 months.
  • Lost the Intercontinental title to Penta in his lone defense of the title, though he was obviously injured for a good chunk of his 3-month reign
  • Lost a street fight to Finn
  • Did win that KOTR Fatal Four Way over Bron, Priest, and Trick though

I didn't realize that he has been in that big of a slump for the last six months. Does he still get the visceral crowd reactions that he was getting last year? I honestly haven't seen him on tv in a minute.

Surprised WWE doesn't have any of their wrestlers doing anything with the World Cup teams, especially Joe Hendry with Scotland given his ability to go viral. Guess with Danhausen blowing up they don't want to dedicate resources to two meme wrestlers.

Nobody cares about the World Cup
This might be the dumbest thing you've ever said on here.

The World Cup is the most watched sporting event across the world.

USA World Cup game had 16 million (25 million once you add in streaming) viewers this year in the US.

That's more than 4x what Raw, Smackdown, and NXT combined do every week. More than 6x when you add in streaming.

Mexico-South Africa said a new World Cup opener record at over 12 million viewers in the US.

IIRC, that chick has been trouble everywhere she’s been.
She's a racist. She did many other things in her previous TNA run that got her in hot water but it seems like she has corrected those behaviors. But if I remember correctly she has never directly apologized to any of the people who were victimized by her racism and bullying.

She’s a cancer.

Had an A+ pedigree, is attractive and can work. Should’ve been a huge star but can’t stay out of her own way.

I doubt TK would touch her, but she also kinda fits modern day WWE like a glove.
CMLL could land her. She wasn't well-liked during the Mae Young Classic and there are many, like Chelsea Green, who've spoken out against her. Neither WWE or AEW need her.

She's been working in CMLL a ton since 2023 - has 166 matches there since 2023. And looks like CMLL told her to pick between them and TNA. Rare you see someone choose Mexico over a USA TV company but hard to argue with her reasoning.

Neither one of them is great in the ring, but Jey is related to the right people, seems like.
And moving merch is most often related to how well someone is booked and pushed on TV. The coachable thing, not something I'd have any knowledge on so I've got nothing to say on that.

It's clear WWE's egotism still can't stand it when someone gets over on their own without the WWE's consent. It's a shame there isn't a competently booked and well paying second company out there that he would be a good fit for (because he'd be a terrible fit in AEW). Guy has basically zero leverage. And he's too old at this point to do the indie grind and prove WWE wrong, he turns 44 this year. Once he leaves WWE isn't going to bring him back on anything but a Legends deal.

NFL and NBA Finals don’t have *hit on the World Cup globally.

And the WWE is chump change compared to the World Cup. Raw drew a record low of just two million after an entire week for the entire world for the number that was released last week.

This is an ignorantly stupid hill for you to die on.

NFL and nba are global brands - there’s like 8 international nfl games this year. Your tunnel vision is insane. Also this is every 4 years and the Olympics draw way more globally.
