Being a fighting champion is one thing. It's having constant title matches against mid and lower card guys who are undeserving that's the issue. Sammy Guevara, a guy stuck in ROH for most of his AEW career, got a world title match out of nowhere on Collision. Tony's booking, at least with this, sucks. It's okay to admit that lol. Wouldn't the wrestling world be wondering what's going on and calling for Triple H to be fired if Jimmy Uso got a short run with the world title and had title matches against Gargano, Saints, Rey Fenix, Kit Wilson, and Theory?
That was decades ago, on mostly taped shows, with a less than impressive roster as WWF was transitioning from one era to another. The show at the Louisville Gardens might've had 1100 in attendance. Not sure you can compare then to now. Monday Night Raw was practically an early version of Sunday Night Heat and ran an hour per week.I get your point but look at who Bret Hart was wrestling on television during his first WWE Title reign.
AgreedNo one should ever call this Darby title reign a generational run
This is more like an Alberto Del Rio title run years ago than a “generational” run of any sort.No one should ever call this Darby title reign a generational run
The French crowd will be excited!Sounds like Baron Corbin is on his way back to wwe.
Maybe he's just one of those guys who's better pursuing the belt than he is once he actually gets the belt. Steamboat was the same way. As was Sting. Not bad company to be in.No one should ever call this Darby title reign a generational run
I think he's had a fun run and put on some really great matches. The Takeshita match and the one with Ciampa were amazing. I think by the time he loses to MJF, he will have defended like 9 times in a month and a half. It's different, but I didn't hate it.Maybe he's just one of those guys who's better pursuing the belt than he is once he actually gets the belt. Steamboat was the same way. As was Sting. Not bad company to be in.
I see your point but he’s not near in the stratosphere of steamboat or sting those are legit superstars in multiple companies and decades.Maybe he's just one of those guys who's better pursuing the belt than he is once he actually gets the belt. Steamboat was the same way. As was Sting. Not bad company to be in.
Named after Baron Corbin?Just saw on Facebook that something called NXT Live is coming to the Corbin Arena on Friday June 19th. Probably not my cup of tea, but some of you all might be interested.
Completely agree. Underdog type babyfaces usually are better on the chase than defending the title. That’s one of those expected things in wrestling where you should have a strong build toward reaching that mountain, but once the babyface wins their title reign shouldn’t overstay its welcome. You build a new big bad and restart the chase.Maybe he's just one of those guys who's better pursuing the belt than he is once he actually gets the belt. Steamboat was the same way. As was Sting. Not bad company to be in.
I don’t think Apostle Saul Smith was comparing their careers or legacies. He was simply drawing a parallel between the archetypes and I agree with his point.I see your point but he’s not near in the stratosphere of steamboat or sting those are legit superstars in multiple companies and decades.
Hmm man this Darby reign is rough
What is the play with Lesnar? They did a match and his "retirement" so well at Mania. Oba doesn't need to lose right now and would Lesnar come back to lose to him again?I think WWE is giving the dirt sheets a rough go lately they’ve been wrong about Orton Knight and Lesnar.
I think Oba wins the feud 2-1 at Summerslam, similar to what happened with Cody which became a big stepping stone on the way to beating Reigns. What is the play with Lesnar? Yup and Nashville just got a Super BowlI've just assumed in a five year period WM will be in Vegas 2, maybe 3 of those years. They're never doing the NE again. Weather is too unpredictable and it looked insane seeing the crowd and Cole bundled up like the little brother from A Christmas Story because it was 42 degrees. London will eventually happen, Indy is coming, and there's talk of Nashville soon. If tickets were actually reasonable, Indy and Nash would be a dream for a Kentuckian but they're not reasonable. FL, TN, IN, NV, TX, CA. Those are probably the only states seeing a Mania from here on out.
It had been him or Cena the last article I saw.If I had to guess it’s prob Cody
Haven't they already announced a PLE for the new Titans stadium when construction is finished? Maybe SS.Yup and Nashville just got a Super Bowl
