You can say a lot of things about Martinez, but that just isn't true.
There's a reason though that he was sent away.
I'm sure he's a good kid, but he just couldn't get it done here, and much of our failings are on him. Although there were some other issues, Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan losses are frankly pretty much on him and critical mistakes.
Played about as well as he could against Wisconsin and OU.
Was pretty much a non-factor against tOSU.
We have learned a lesson the hard way the past 5 years. An indecisive QB who is a turnover machine is a loser. That includes Lee and AM. Armstrong, TM were different in that despite their weaknesses, they were decisive as runners and passers (albeit not too good mechanically) and were at least average on the turnover front.
That was the thing with Gill, Frazier, and Crouch, and even some of the other QBs along the way (Z. Taylor, S. Taylor, and even guys like Kethin McCant). They were decisive players, not scared of anything.
