We should have run over the pick or over if they other guys should have tripped they're man. Any foul better than an open three.

In retrospect.

But with 20 plus seconds left you expect to get your turn to answer so not quite so clear as i first made it out to be.

Geo has a reputation as a last minute have winning shooter. He could well have received a foul call that others wouldn't if he drives jump stops and shoots.

Yeboah took a good line to the shooter along an open path on the floor, passing the Harrar pick on his left. Harrar then stepped into him as he was closing out, preventing him from getting there in time. Had PSU not committed a violation, Yeboah would have been right on top of Dread as he made the shot - so I can't fault Yeboah for the decision in the moment. Had Yeboah tried to go around the other side of Harrar, it's almost certain that he would just committed a violation in that direction, too - it is obvious that Harrar's intent was to not allow Yeboah to get a clear path to the shooter.

We did have a final possession with no time outs, which we squandered - so it's not like it was a game-ending shot. But expecting Geo to get a foul call if he drives doesn't align with the way the half had been called - we'd gotten just one FT attempt the entire second half, on just 4 called fouls. If they didn't call Harrar for an obvious clear out in the waning seconds, they wouldn't be likely to call PSU on a shooting foul the other way either.

is the same screen that y'all say shouldnt be called on Myles..just checking

Don’t think it was the same any Myles had been called for screens under 2 minutes, Illinois comes to mind that was basically one possession earlier IIRC

I’m still pissed about the Pikiell timeout after Yeboah 3. Immediately I’m going wtf are you doing. Could’ve used that timeout for that last offensive possession.

It’s obvious based on Pikiells defensive attitude and his comments about the lack of 2 for 1 a few games before he only discusses defense in the huddle before the Dread 3.

smh

You're wrong on this one. This screen was egregious. We all wish our recent offensive tackles could locate and engage a blitzing linebacker like this guy did.

My argument is dont expect to be called be with 25 seconds if you bothered to read my postings

I used to work with a basketball ref who had a saying. “Nobody will know that you don’t know what you’re doing, unless you screw up the last two minutes of the game.” That’s when refs need to be perfect. The rest of the game won’t matter much. With the missed calls on Geo’s jumper and the moving screen, it was clear that the officiating crew had no idea what they were doing last night.

Wow, no idea what play you were watching.

Yeboah first came through the lane following Dread and was screened by Stevens, giving Dread some separation.
Dread then cut to his left to get to a spot behind Harrar to receive the pass
Yeboah was running to the point where Dread was running to, but encountered Harrar along the way.
He tried to go to the right of Harrar (essentially going "under" the screen), but Harrar shifted his weight left into Yeboah's chest to clear him out
Yeboah's momentum was then shifted away from Dread and toward the passer (Brockington, I think). His arms wrapped around Harrar to halt that momentum, keep from falling down, and pull himself back on line to get to Dread, and he continued to fight around the screen.

Had Yeboah tried to go over the screen, he would have been a step behind because Dread already got separation on the first screen by Stevens.
Had Yeboah just taken the hit and gone down, there's a much higher chance that an offensive foul would have been called - but a ton of contact had already been let go in the game, so it's hard to think that it would have been called there. Yeboahcontinued to fight through the contact to get to Dread, and there was no whistle.
From the live TV camera angle (that I replayed about 10x) it looked like Harrar also got a semi- hook on Yeboah.

It was a terrible noncall and I think Hobbs needs to send the replays of the many missed calls against PsU to B1G officials and formally complain. I'd rather Hobbs play the bad cop vs. Pike.

that's BS and you know it.. Myles has NEVER done anything that egregious

Myles needs footwork and leg strength work.. his screen problems are moving too soon after a screen and not seeing up soon enough, far enough away. And, of course, the leaning in that gets a lot of people called.. And sometimes the ball-handler gets Myles a call on screens.. he moves BEFORE giving Myles time to set up. But Myles has never just plowed someone over.

Jordan Rules.
A Geo last second shot is a thing.
Make or miss it would invite replay and thus scrutiny.

If Yeboah had scored more than 3 points in 30 min it wouldn’t have had to come down to that.

1. Can we stop with the "he pulled/wrapped up" Yeboah? Yeboah was the one with his arms out hugged the defender.

2. A case could be made that the defender was "mostly" set until Yeboah crashes into him. Hugs him then spins the defender out of the way.
Defender does take a short hop/shuffle.

3. Where the f*** was Yeboah going? He looks like he is attempting to jump the pass for a steal from 10 feet away with his right arm out.
If he runs at the shooter then the screen doesn't matter.
"Mostly set"? Never set. Show at any point when Harrar had his feet stationary. Plus he was leaning into Yeboah while he was shuffling his feet.
