Mattis and joint chiefs said from the beginning that we needed to maintain a presence there. Period.

Are they the same one's in general that thought the leading from behind strategy was the way to go? I don't know, just asking. If so, I'll take it with a grain of salt.

You’re seriously questioning Mattis on this? WTF?

Dude, you guys have short memories. You all were rushing to praise his holiness when he said “no boots on the ground”, now, not only isn’t that conceded, but we need to stay there according to the left.

I’m happy with pulling out, always have been. But I’m a little uneasy when you guys rail about how important our victory is in a place like Syria, then flip to the opposite position.

I never said that. I didn't want a full deployment, another shock and awe like many on the right wanted. And all along I did say 'listen to the generals'.

I’m not in favor of pulling out. I think it’s a mistake. Keep using the rebels to put pressure on Iran in Syria.

Well, yeah. He's a badass, kicks ***, and takes names. Whether we absolutely need to be there, or if he wants to the world's police, I don't know. I'll question anyone.

The rebels may be worse than Assad. Assad allows other religions while the rebels do not and have committed atrocities against others, especially Christians. Syria is a hellhole and will always be a hellhole.

Is that a job Israel, France, and the Brits can do, or do we absolutely need to be there with boots on the ground?

Obviously you have never understood the power of the military–industrial complex. I'm all for a strong defense....but this behemoth has gotten completely out of hand.
That’s absurd, I’m sorry. You guys want it funded at 1980s levels, and the reality is that just isn’t possible. Tech costs money. You all say you want our guys to have the technological advantage, it isn’t free. You aren’t comparing reality to reality. You’re comparing this notion of what you think then military should cost and based on the Cold War, yet not allowing for the inflated costs of stuff (beans bullets and bandaids). Jesus, in the 80s, a badass truck was maybe high $20k, now you’re seeing those same trucks approaching $100k. You think a tank or a jet isn’t going to exponentially increase in cost?

Think about how computer driven our weaponry is. How new is your computer at home, Phone, TV? You want outback guys flying around at Mach hair on fire using Nokia cell phone eta technology?Moore’s Law is the cause of the cost growth. No idea how you get that under control.

You lying motherfvcker. All of you on the left were on here sucking his crank while I told you he was lying to your faces. I was in the region when he was saying we weren’t there. It was hilarious to read this board and knowing he was lying.

You know I have high respect for you and I agree with about 99% of your comments. However....I'm just tired of the US playing policeman and savior for the world.....let them save and police themselves. I'm all for a strong defense and I pity any bastards that fool with us.
