The rebels may be worse than Assad. Assad allows other religions while the rebels do not and have committed atrocities against others, especially Christians. Syria is a hellhole and will always be a hellhole.

You’re comparing this notion of what you think then military should cost and based on the Cold War, yet not allowing for the inflated costs of stuff (beans bullets and bandaids). Jesus, in the 80s, a badass truck was maybe high $20k, now you’re seeing those same trucks approaching $100k. You think a tank or a jet isn’t going to exponentially increase in cost?
