Is it a "transactional" event with the Russians? This doesn't make sense coming so quickly, something smells fishy. Be interested to see how involved the JCS were and whether this was another surprise for our Intelligence community from Mr. Trump.

The cut and run on the rebels we had backed. Nothing left stopping Putin and Assad from bringing Syria under complete regime control and murdering these people now.

It would be a bad time for Trump to be hot publically with Kompromat

A Christmas present to Vladimir, how touching.

Explain to me where we.are benefitted by conceding Syria to Russia?

I'm certainly not an expert, I'll defer to Dog. But... are we conceding if Russia already "owned" Syria? They're their main trading partner, and have a significant military presence since the 70s. You are stating you want to overthrow the Assad regime, are you not, neocon?

Who says anything about overthrowing Assad? As long as we maintain a presence they can't move of any of the rebel factions that we backed.

If we leave, between Assad and the Turks, those people won't last a month.

Lol, it appears that the Donald did not inform the State department or the DoD before his withdrawal announcement, prolly why the State Department canceled their press briefing. military already pushing back on the ISIS is defeated claim. Why even argue with the rubes, they don't delve into the facts and their only goal is to defend whatever latest incompetent action their hero has done or said. He is either making sure Putin is happy or trying to distract from the truth coming out about all his lies and quibbles about EVERYTHING.

Yeah, DoD released a report over the summer that said there were as many as 30k ISIS fighters active in that region.

Dog? I thought this would be I’ll advised from those that know the world theatre?
No idea on this line of thinking unless we feel like the coalition has enough control at this point that we can pull back. We were never going to supplant Russia or Assad. Syria would have gone the way of Libya.

There is somewhere else about to get a renewed focus or we’re throwing our hands up and saying **** it all. Rand study is still in draft.

I realize that was probably a joke, but there is a difference in wrong and loony tunes. Just being wrong about something doesn't make someone nuts.

Agreed but you have someone like country who is proven wrong then claims he is still right. Then you have the guy who doesn't want to visit his home state any more because the majority voted for Trump. That's pretty damn loony.

There are some crazy libs, but lib conspiracy nut? Never heard of one. Don't think there is such a thing. Qanon is so far out there, it has its own galaxy. Conspiracy nuts cross the line from extremism to psychosis.

Going to have to chime in. There are plenty of nutty lib conspiracy nuts out there on many subjects. But they are not as well organized with such an effective communication platforms as the righties.

Chris Matthews? Rachel Maddow? That’d be the first liberal equivalent that would come to my mind. Who on this board believes in Qanon?

I don't watch MSNBC, so I can't really comment on if they are that crazy, but I kind of doubt it.

These are people who believe that JFK Jr. faked his death and waited 20 years to come back as a man who drove around in a clown car in order to help Donald Trump fight a world-wide pedophile/cannibal ring headquartered out of a pizza shop.

Sorry, I don’t truck in the absurd. Those Loose Change and Fahrenheit 9/11 people are truly bizarre.

I actually had to explain to some people one day that we’d been to the moon numerous times, after one of them said “Well why did we only go once?” I was dumbfounded.
