Here is where I disagree.

I think Al will merely root for whoever is on the sidelines. It’s honorable. He’s not the one to make the decision and until that decision has been made, he’s deciding to stand up for said individual until the very end. Al is the kind of guy I want supporting me, should I ever be put into the meat grinder, through thick and thin.
I have ZERO problem with someone "rooting for the guy on the sideline," et al, BUT that's not what is going on here recently. I like that old Al, as insane and over-the-top as he was, and was one of the few posters here to still stick up for him even as recently as a year or so ago. Did as much for 20+ years. This version of Al, however, is too much. The incessant spin to weave his personal narrative, filled with lies, need to stop.

Recruits care about everything. Northwestern just spent a billion dollars on facilities. USC, 300 Million. Oregon is spending another 300 million. We don’t have enough NIL and our facilities stink. So what exactly is the value proposition here?
The entire idea is to punch at your weight, worst case, and ideally a good coaching staff is punching ABOVE their weight. Then, as you have success, the program grows incrementally, increasing in the level of resources. That is what happened 2005-2007, lessons to the expanded stadium. Notice how that did not happen 2002-2004.

YOU talked ad nauseam about how NIL is everything and now that we have enough NIL to expect 6-7 wins* by punching at our weight, now you are saying that other things are the problem that are not NIL.

* There is absolutely no reason why this should not have been a 6-7 win season. Go 3-0 OOC and find 3-4 wins across the schedule that really only had one unwinnable game.

Facilities are a proxy for a schools commitment to success, which is why the rest of the Big Ten has spent heavily to upgrade them. I love to throw value proposition around because it succinctly explains why Rutgers has trouble recruiting. NIL is primary but Facilities are important too.

Since you don’t have a historical perspective of Rutgers, you are clueless. Rutgers only started out recruiting Syracuse once we upgraded Hale Center. This resulted in our best class ever with Ray Rice, both McCourty’s, and many other solid players. Kenny Britt and Anthony Davis were recruited in subsequent classes, both First round draft picks. These improvements happened 20 years ago. Now we need a new facility and more NIL support. These will boost our recruiting.

Even from the outside, Marylands facility casts a positive impression. With more NIL, their next coach might turn around their situation in a hurry.

This is where you constantly move the argument. Everybody knows there are many reasons why we are not in position to compete for being one of the top 25-40 programs and almost nobody is expecting that right now.

But your argument has absolutely nothing to do with the embarrassing losses this season.
