Agreed. It’s basically people saying they don’t want to be held accountable for their bad take. If you man/women enough to degrade or talk negative about a player when they are let playing well then you should be man/woman enough to eat the crow when they are playing well.

If you post about the weather during a severe thunderstorm and say things look really bad you would be correct

If you post about the weather on a day that it's 75 degrees and clear and say it looks great you would also be correct.

The same is true of this basketball team,as Morg says some are always over the top positive while others are under the bottom negative both are equally wrong and do just about equal damage to the board.No one is right all the time,we all overreact to things we see from just about every UK team every year.

I will stand by whatever I post,admit when I was wrong and feel some satisfaction when I am correct

I hope no one misunderstands my stance on this. I do think it was knee jerk reactions during a rough time. I believe those posters would have been better served to stop and think before posting. And yes, I think many were over the top and it did piss me off at the time.
But at the same time, as a Kentucky fan, I understand why they felt the way they did. I was just as frustrated with this team.

And bringing up these threads again isn't some sort of harsh punishment, either. It's just internet ridicule, and well-deserved to boot. Like the mod said, if you can't deal with the grief, don't make the statements.

Passive aggressive stuff is a weakness of mine , lol . I dont care much about what others think about me , as I age I care less and less. I've typed a few things just this week that I thought" man thats gonna get you blasted " but went ahead anyway . Right now the bus is rolling , I don't want any bad juju rising among the base that doesnt have to there . I didn't drag up any of those threads, and I only commented on them when some of the main offenders wanted to do everything but admit that hey, maybe, just maybe, they were overreacting, jumping the gun, being a little extreme, etc.

What I don't get (or accept) is that it's somehow better to direct criticism at the people dragging this stuff up than it is to hold people accountable for what they posted. It's OK to act like a developmentally challenged 8 year old throwing a tantrum, but it's petty to point out the people who were acting like developmentally challenged 8 year olds?

I reject that idea. People who are extremist get called to account all the time here, and that includes some of the people who are extreme in the opposite direction, making wildly unrealistic, positive proclamations.

Ultimately, getting upset over some mild ridicule on the internet speaks more to the maturity of the recipient than it does to anything else. Necroing threads isn't a harsh punishment like, say, banning would be.

Yeah Doc, I'm all about forgive and forget, but some do what they do with purpose. It is those who need a little pruning or even admonishing/ public humbling. Hopefully they will temper their insults as if their mask of not being identified allows them to do or state anything. Holding one accountable with the past written word seems to do that. I am for it in the cases of the extreme. Mistakes of too much emotion happens but not to the extent some took it. They went too far and it seems, regularly.

Wrong, I said it COULD be judged indefensible, based on SOMEONE ELSE'S standards. And that every poster on this forum would fall prey to the same "indefensible" standard... of someone else.
