He's not starting these games. You get him in late in games if and when the games get out of reach.
Obviously he has to prove himself capable of whatever reps he gets. And I'm not saying he will, but he could.
And let's not forget we saw Schiano trot out a physically underwhelming Freshman in Chas Dodd however many years ago. Was Dodd more familiar with the playbook at that point? Yes, but he played a bunch. Wimsatt at best is going to play with a limited playbook, my original question was asking about sprinkling in snaps. We've seen similar in more recent years with young fairly highly touted QB's. Those guys didn't pan out, but it does highlight how coaches, especially those whose current QB's are underwhelming, are eager to get that QB of the future on the field.
