total possible scenario in which WG and SKJ are and end up better than willis and humphries and take a majority of those minutes along with bam. causing BBN to lose its collective mind.

No. And you haven't seen any of our freshman bigs run the floor in a college game. I'll hold off on my opinion on that.

I just cant believe you can be a UK fan and not care at all about what Cal said yesterday. I mean he usually gives out 1 or 2 good nuggets of info within his mad genius ramblings.... Granted I speed read through a lot of what I call filler.......... but there were some meat to be read and worth reading the transcript if not watching the video of the press conference.

Every UK fan that I've met is like a BBN zombie.........FEED ME UK NEWWWWWWWS NOW NOMB NOMB!

Why would he want to read what Cal says when he understands the game better than Cal?

Willis was 6th on the team in minutes played last year, a team that bowed out in the round of 32.

Willis played the 4 spot for a team that desperately needed inside punch. The opportunity to play big minutes was there.

UMM is setting us up for another year of second guessing.

Whenever Willis does something good, we will hear "I told you so." Even though all of us like Willlis and expect him to have big moments.

Any loss will be because Willis didn't play enough.

I would say he could care less about what you want to hear. Fan's needs to realize what he says is for recruiting. Yeah it's a little repetitive but he is 24-7 pitching the program and recruiting. We are blessed to have him over our program.

Yeah didn't look bad. Looked about the same but with less weight (only one practice so can't get a good scouting report). Pretty much everyone looked like I expected based on their H.S ranking. Next weekend will show us more (scrimmage)

no, not at all - but other players looked better than expected.

God he can be annoying but deep down I really dont want him to change. I dont even care that he's a troll... he causes threads that make me laugh every single day and laughing is worth its weight in gold.
Umm is my favorite poster by far. Everyone loves to **** on him and he takes it and I give him props for that. After I read rafters I always search ulismyman for his posts they are priceless including the responses. Another one of his classics is snell is better than Damien Harris lol that was great!

They've played plenty. High school and AAU. In front of scouts and coaches, and against other top players.

So anyone with a reasonable eye for talent can make a logical projection about what they might do at the next level.

No doubt Willis can shoot the ball, and he can rebound (if in position, but how often does he go after it?). He's also a pretty decent passer. I like the guy, I really do, and I want him to do well.
However, I do not think he's a better overall player than Briscoe. Really, the only negative to IB's game is his shooting ability. He's a bulldog on defense, can create shots, drives the basket well, passes well, is quick/explosive, etc.

The thing is, we don't need to compare IB to DW - they play two different positions; there is no competition for playing time between them. Willis needs to carve out his time among the other bigs; not Bam so much (he's going to play) but with Humphries, SKJ, Gabriel and even (long shot here) Wynyard.

A voice of reason in a thread of darkness.I think Willis is a likely starter for a few games unless WG or SKJ have wildly exceeded projections and expectations

Willis is going to get minutes - he's too good a shooter not to. The questions are when and how many.

Willis is a Senior.. He's put the time in and he can flat play.. Regardless of the out of state 17 ur olds that have never had to rebound or play ANY defense. Knocking down 3 at a high clip and can throw down on offense or D boards. He starts.. So shut up n get back to work

Threads like this make you a HOF poster.
Ulismyman has been a rafters legend since it's inception lol. Last yr he started a thread that dealt with his gambling skills. It read something like taking candy from a baby. It involved a point spread and uk. Needless to say he didn't win and was bashed for that thread and that began the legend this we know as ulismyman

Willis plays because he has a skill that really complements the rest of the main guys.

With three guards that can penetrate, you need a guy on the perimeter that can spot up and knock it down consistently. This will help keep the defense from packing it in, which will make it easier for the guards to score at the rim.

With an effective big inside, we need a guy that can keep the opposing team's 4 man out of the paint to give Bam room to operate inside.

I won't say he starts, but worst case, he is a 20+mpg contributor because of his shot, IMHO.

Now if Fox, Monk, and one of Briscoe or Gabriel shoot it well enough to keep the defenses from packing it in, then Willis might not play as much.

I just see Willis as bringing a valuable skill to the table that no one else has, at least not at his level anyway.

They would compete for time if Willis had any lateral quickness.
