Willis over Briscoe...are you kiddin me?? Is that a real question...Willis shoots lefthanded better thsn Briscoe

If one single post ever outed you as a troll, this is it. You blubbered all year long about how Briscoes shot didn't effect the game and were pretty much his biggest fan, all while he stunk it up in record fashion.

This is obviously some lousiville jerkoff.

On a serious note, how many times will it take before people understand one decent floor shooter is not enough. I don't care how well you defend or drive the lane.

We actually need Willis to be a major factor shooting this year or it could easily be more of the same issue in the tournament. Not enough threats from outside, deep run because of talent, end up short.

Be careful. He's already hired one umm.

I dunno. I don't think UMM and BCG have much in common. For example, UMM not being able to hold his liquor would explain a lot. BCG on the other hand was a world class sponge.

Ah, heck, let's just ask him. UMM, you like pop tarts?

UNC was ranked 342 last year in percentage of points that came from 3-point range. Was still a play away from winning it all.

I said earlier on that I thought Willis would start at least the first few games due to a) his performance last year, b) he's putting in extra time at the gym and c) he is a senior.
While I'm not certain of this - it's really impossible to be certain - it seemed like the most likely scenario based on what we knew at the time. Now, after Cal's comments and after what we saw in the one practice that's been televised, I really wonder.

We need Willis as the first off the bench. Mr. Offence when he comes in.
Willis can play the 3 or the 4. His FT % was around 90 last year. We need him to
finish the game, not start the game. Defense comes first. Three steals in a row is
better than a single three.

I don't know if Willis starts or not, but he is going to get starter minutes. He will average 20+mpg.

He is going to get tons of run with Fox, Monk, Briscoe, and Bam because his skill set complements theirs so well. Those guys like to do their damage at the rim. They need room to work. Willis stretches the defense allowing them more room in the paint. Fox and Monk are good at penetrating and kicking out and a guy like Wilis can make a living out there.

We almost know for sure that the three guards and Bam will start. No one is even going to argue about that, I don't think, but that fifth starter is still a question mark. It could be Willis, Humphries, or Gabriel.

I would lean toward Willis, because of his experience and his shooting. Don't want to come out and struggle early on offense. A guy like Willis can help you get the offense going quickly. Defense and rebounding might not be as strong, though.

The advantage of starting Gabriel is defense and rebounding would be excellent, but we might struggle offensively.

The advantage of starting Humphries is he gives us inside scoring and rebounding, but we could struggle defensively and the transition game would not be as strong.

All three guys are going to play, though.

I'm wondering more about who is the 8th man: Hawkins or SKJ? I think Cal is going to keep the rotation to 8 guys, so one of those guys could be left out.

I think ill take Cal's word..He said he may start 4 Fr with Briscoe ....Or he may go big with 3 guards...Wills will play, but imo, he won't start...You need to play defense to play for Cal...This year he has players he can go to like WG or SKJ....Willis better shoot high 40's or really improve on the defensive side
High 40's? Are you high? Wills shooting over 40% and he needs to be on the floor.

this is something I was thinking about as well - which is part of why I now wonder about my initial thought of him starting.
Now, it could probably still happen - for a few games until some of our other guys get their feet under them.

I could see Cal starting Gabriel at the 4 and bringing Willis in off the bench.

Willis can come in for everyone but Bam and bring in Hump for Bam.

True. But it's not the norm, especially if you come up against a team with lots of three point threats with balance. And UNC was beat by a three point shot, and they came up short. Add a good three point threat in UNC they win. Basically my point. I'm not talking about uk getting close. We've got the talent for close. I'm talking about number 9, 10, 11.

I would expect Cal to do what he always does. He starts a five and only play those that will match up best against the opposing team. As we saw with Hump last year, Cal never let him play against a really quick center, and Cal ain't about to change his coaching ideas, he stays with what works for him most of the time.

I thought he was starting. Then he was a top 4 player.

Most of us expect Willis to play a lot of minutes. We aren't arguing. But we do hope guys like Gabriel play well enough to steal minutes from Willis.

Unless Willis has gotten a lot better, we are in for a long season if that's not the case.

He gets dumber every thread..what kills me is how this fool makes statements like they are facts when any Kentucky fan knows that 1. anything is possible with Cal and 2. We haven't even seen half our team play a game yet! So to say someone is "startin!!!!!!!!!!" at this point in the season is just an ignorant statement. Yes, Willis will probably start some games this year, but if someone else (Gabriel, humphries, skj) is making improvements and playing well they could very well end up starting too. Just sit back, quit commenting so much, and let Cal handle this thing buddy.

you say you're not going to argue and the next sentence you type is an argument. and then you claim it is absolutely right. you don't like the troll word? the only thing more embarrassing than being busted is realizing the time spent posing. and for what? to be laughing stock?
