The video still didn't give me what I consider to be the key piece of information about Willis' situation. WHERE did he get wasted? If it was nearby then maybe he walked to his car and passed out without driving. If it was further away then it's fairly obvious he was driving. Either way I'd say he has a problem that needs to be addressed. I'll leave how to best address it up to Cal. I wasn't exactly a saint at his age either.

I think there is a small piece of evidence in that video that you (and others here) may've missed: the manner in which he is parked.

Do you notice how the back right rear tire is up over the curb? While it might not be definitive proof, it certainly does NOT suggest that the car had been parked by a sober person. Instead, it suggests someone who'd been driving, pulled over haphazardly because he was about to pass out, and then fell out of the car into the middle of the street.

Willis is an Indian outlaw. Half Cherokee and alcohol His baby had a drink and fall. They are two of a kind

You can find him outside his car sleeping on his tum tum.
Looks like he pulled out his pipe and smoked him some

And fell to the ground

Willis messed up big time. No way to spin this into anything else. I am very confident Cal will bust him over this and should.
Very glad that for Willis and everyone in that area that night that this wasn't much, much worse. Don't understand how folks are just passing this off as nothing.

I know it's been stated by several on here, but this looks really, really bad. Does UK still have its zero-tolerance policy on driving under the influence? It appears Willis is going to get off on a technicality, but he very narrowly missed being suspended for a significant portion of the season or being kicked off the team.

Cal needs to kick him hard in the ***.

They don't enforce zero tolerance anymore. But they still could punish however they chose

Cal will have Willis do some extra community stuff. Punish him in the gym. Probably have him sit a handful of games.

This is a learning tool for all those in and around the program. " I can't hide you here"

Seems like whether you agree to it or not you get a DUI. I just feel like it's a fine line. I don't feel they should have that kind of leverage over someone's DNA.

And as I said I hate drunk drivers and hope they rot in prison. But damn it seems like a right is being violated somewhere.
Why would anyone refuse to take a breathalyzer? If you're sober, wouldn't you want to prove it?

Only drunk people (or those afraid that they're close to being over the limit) would refuse a breathalyzer. It makes no sense, otherwise.

Where did I say it's a freebie? I said a DUI 1st isn't as big of a deal as DUI 2nd :chairshot:

But it IS a big deal!!!! He could have killed himself and/or someone else! It's WAY beyond whatever punishment he might get as a result.

And Cal should punish him accordingly. This is NOT the time to give any of our rivals ammunition to use when trying to convince parents to support sending their children to UK.

I agree with that which is why it takes a moron to drive when they are severely impaired. I can't believe your actually trying to justify it.
I'm not. I'm saying the people freaking out badly need to step back, take a breathe and realize people make mistakes and if he got his second DUI then there is something to really worry about

George Bush had three DUIs. Became President, and killed 10,000 GI's while claiming to love Jesus....

FREE WILLI-S!

1. That was a different era back when DUIs were not treated as severely as today. It took an appalling number of innocent dead bodies before we realized they should be treated more harshly.

2. George Bush was a Bush. The rules are different for Bushes. Bushes get admitted to Yale even when piss poor C students with mediocre test scores. They get strings pulled to avoid the military draft and then face no punishment when they go AWOL on their national guard obligations. They get elected governor of Texas even when they've never succeeded at a real job in their life. And, yeah, little matters like driving drunk tend to whitewashed as well. Unfortunately for him, Willis is not a Bush.

A breathalyzer is actually a pretty poor test that can give unreliable results. A blood ethanol level is a much better test with a higher sensitivity and specificity. Some people decline the breathalyzer so that they can have a blood ethanol level drawn. Some lawyers and laboratory professionals recommend declining the breathalyzer and requesting a blood ethanol level whether you have been drinking or not.
