There are people on this site who already think Allen should be suspended for tripping an opponent. Imagine their reaction if Allen showed up in a video like this one.

You are correct, but you'll have to excuse the poster who made that claim. His view of the video was obscured by the heavily blue-tinted goggles he was wearing at the time he watched it. Them blue goggles can often prevent one from seeing the same thing as other people.
Well, you're accusing other fans of making excuses for Willis' behavior, but you also claim all college kids do it (which is far from true). So yes, it's pretty unclear what you think.

If not he is a very bitter person who justifies his existence by policing actions, postings, and thought (if he could) making him feel like he really did something that day. Those defending Willis, would you feel different if he struck another vehicle and injured or killed someone before he pulled over and passed out?
This video could have the "Ray Rice effect". A public intoxication with no video would probably be a minor discipline. This video could result in dismissal from team (and I would not question Cal's decision if he did so).

Unless Derek doesn't already have a problem with this, it is his warning to lay this shi$$ down before it becomes an issue and ruins and controls his life...do not understand people who think you must get wasted or high to have a good time at anything...it is becoming an epidemic in this country...waste of time and money and in too many cases lives and futures. .hope he gets it together before it controls his life

I would feel differently, because then there would actually be proof that he drove his car while under the influence.
It definitely took him longer than 15 seconds to get that smashed (Sorry Smash) too...
He may not have been driving. There were 2 other cars parked on the side of the road...so it could have been a house party with cars parked out there.
Well we all know almost nothing happens in today's world that someone doesn't get on video. I myself drive around with my GoPro in my car which I can activate at any time. I'm just kind of shocked Derek didn't get charged with DUI. That car didn't get there by itself. He should consider himself lucky/blessed to have only gotten a public intoxication charge.

Let's say someone was under suspicion of being on alcohol behind the wheel and was submitted to the screening /blood and no alcohol was present but the joint they hit 3 weeks earlier was. Can they stick you with a DUI because of that?
And I don't know why but it just seems bizarre to me that someone is basically forced to submit their blood to authorities. I didn't realize it fell under implied consent when you fill out your liscense.
The answer to your first question is that it basically depends on how good your lawyer is. Because weed stays in your system for around 30 days, your test will come up positive if you've smoked in that time frame and it's not possible to say exactly when. I was actually in a situation similar to what you describe about 15 years ago. My lawyer was pretty good, I got off with a lesser charge and a small fine but I was initially charged with a DUI.
The video still didn't give me what I consider to be the key piece of information about Willis' situation. WHERE did he get wasted? If it was nearby then maybe he walked to his car and passed out without driving. If it was further away then it's fairly obvious he was driving. Either way I'd say he has a problem that needs to be addressed. I'll leave how to best address it up to Cal. I wasn't exactly a saint at his age either.

S&C, I do not believe that a person is required to submit to a test requested by an officer; but if you refuse you lose your license for a period of time. That loss of license is where the implied consent comes in - meaning by being given the privilege of a license to drive you are deemed to have consented to the test requested by an officer who has reasonable grounds to be suspicious. Also, the fact that you refuse the test can be used against you as evidence of guilt (e.g., if you weren't under the influence you would have taken the test) and can enhance the subsequent penalty if you are found guilty.
On the bright side, there was no penetration.

As a Non-Drinker I couldn't care less about the first two, but not sure the last one would have made me want to stay home....
Yea, this is about how I remember it. They can't literally force you to submit to the test but they have a lot of leverage to get you to submit to it.

Seems like whether you agree to it or not you get a DUI. I just feel like it's a fine line. I don't feel they should have that kind of leverage over someone's DNA.
And as I said I hate drunk drivers and hope they rot in prison. But damn it seems like a right is being violated somewhere.
