Shula and Teasley weren't good, but they might have gotten all they could out of the talent they had. Both of them were hired by major programs after they left SC. I have a hard time blaming all the failures of the offense on the OC and OL coach.

If Briles and Clements don't produce a record setting offense this season, there are going to be some seriously upset fans.

Nebraska hired Satterfield from us and he went on to lead abysmal offenses there. I wouldn't put too much stock in Teasley being hired as run game coordinator or in Shula being a senior offensive assistant. Both of those positions are leaps and bounds down from the positions they had here.

Thing is, we don't need a record setting offense. If we had a competent offense last season, we'd have won 9 games.

Conner Shaw was a warrior for us, I remember when he came off the bench to play inured to bring the team back to win at Mizzou. I do not see Sellers in this same light, sorry if that bothers some of the Sellers fans. I have stated previously that I will refer judgement on Sellers as a qb as he has never had a good OL or a good OC, so I will be interested to see how he develops this season.

It was a thing of beauty watching Shaw lead sustained drives and taking time off the clock. He always found a way to get a first down-with his feet or passing it off. No need for quick scores either-we had solid defense.

I like the sounds of that article!! Here's HOPING we can get some leads this year and get Cutter some playing time! I've said it a million times, and I'll die on the hill of - one of the big factors that allowed the upstate team to become so talented was playing against powder-puff teams, building huge leads, and getting backups LOTS of meaningful minutes. That allowed for development of quality, experienced depth. We never seem to be able to get our 2s in the game......

The article seems to make Woods sound more experienced than he is. The article says he won the starting job in the middle of last season and had production over Air Noland, but Woods only had 11 passes. He's still extremely inexperienced. But Briles is a seasoned and successful OC and Woods has shown him enough to earn the backup job without question.

If Woods projects to be the starter next season, you can kiss Duckworth goodbye. Just the norm for CFB now with a rotating door at key backup positions since nobody is willing to wait their turn.

Not much experience but this is a nice play to be on film, hopefully its a sign of more to come from Cutter.
