I have reserved calling him out because he’s done lots of good. Although some of that is Vedral and Schiano’s other transfers, and just canning Ash honestly. But there are also play calls in there that don’t make sense in any football game. It’s a situational thing that he lacks, period.
Every fan in the country can point to questionable play calling when things don’t work.
Alabama fans crush their OC every year.
If it was a QB draw, not likely Art would make it in. Maybe he just knew, "Protect the ball!" and pulled it down quickly when he felt any pressure. Art is a decent runner but he is not going to run anyone over or make guys miss in the open field. Was that a designed qb draw? I am not so sure
That’s the point. You don’t expect Sit to run so that’s why he called it there. Didn’t work but not a terrible call since their gameplan was to take away everything over 10 yards just like we did today. Both teams allows running and short passes by design.Don't want to bury Gleeson in any way, but I have no faith in Sitkowski when the pressure is on him. We had 3rd and goal from the 9, and we're gonna rush Sitkowski?
Sit has to feel the pressure and just get rid of the ball.
DE beat a double team. When you think a OT and a TE have your back you don’t think you’re gonna get sacked in 1.5 Mississippi’s.Been a problem for 3 years now.
Just read thru the meltdown... my take...Wouldn't be a Rutgers victory without Nuts having a meltdown thread. Two nights in a row!
you guys are holding him to a different standard now. you can say, maybe, he has earned that distrust.. but if you watch him with an open mind you will see a pretty good QB these days. I counted 2 mistakes... a throw on a quick slant done automatically.. with defenders danger close... and later.. what was it.. I forget.. but other problems were play choice.. play design.. like when he has to turn away from the LOS for a fake handoff that wasn't much of a fake from the RB.. bad timing.. then he turns to LOS and was supposed to make instantaneous reads with a collapsing pocket? I'm sorry... no QB can do that.Been a problem for 3 years now.
Gleeson, live and die by him. He may get us out of the cellar but he will not ever get us close to a championship. There is some low IQ coaching these past few weeks going on

He throws 2 TDs.. no INTS.. no Fumbles.. gets sacked.. what.. once? in a VICTORY as an underdog.. starting on short notice.. and guys are all over his ***. It ain't right.
+1
Sit is not a D1 QB. Way too jumpy.
If only he could do better than the most improved offense in the country, then we’d have something.Gleeson, live and die by him. He may get us out of the cellar but he will not ever get us close to a championship. There is some low IQ coaching these past few weeks going on
You say the pick play was legal? What exactly is the rule there?Just read thru the meltdown... my take...
Yes the 4th and 3 was silly.... bad decisions on 3rd and 4th... and GS could have countermanded that 4th.
Purdue had moved the ball on long fields and short fields.. that they march down the short field is not a surprise.
It is a minor miracle they did not score and left the ball at the 4 or wheever. So right there is 7 or 3 of those 9 points Nuts was so worried about.
Yes we called plays too tight down on our goal line and yes Nuts is right.. Young hasn't broke many tackles this year. He really needs to work on leg strength or something...
As for Sitkowski's 3rd down play.. it was a QB draw.. an interesting call. But lets look at 1st and 2nd downs.
On the previous set Langan had a tough run and hit and spun around for 6 yards for a first and goal. And on the next snap he is asked to run it again.. he lost 2. Clearly.. he was not ready... not recovered from the previous play. We went to to the well once too often (similar to Vedral the prior week in OT.. he was banged up running hard for the score and tie the previous possession.. and the injury he was out for today was probably already suffered when we failed to score in that final OT... someone missed something there..
Then, in this game, on 2nd down, we have the quite legal pick play that was wrongly flagged. We should have scored right then. Instead it is back to 2nd and goal from the 20. Sitkowski throws to Melton for 11.. 3rd and goal from the 9.
Yeah.. I think we should have had a fade route dialed up. Or run the pick play again since it was legal the first time.. dare them to flag it again. But we try the QB draw. But Gleeson had already made the TD play call.. and Langan had thrown that 5 yard TD pass.. and it got wrongly flagged.
I'm sorry.. but that's just football.. it was not the end of the world.. clearly.
BEAT THE BASTARDS next week.
I wonder if he’s in the doghouse with his wife. Mine would be filing for divorce. Say what you want, he’s no Gary Waters! The guy's wife had a baby at 10:30 p.m. last night and flew in this morning. He gets some slack.
I don’t think Langan into their guts works the way it did unless one of their defensive and whole team leaders is ejected the way he was for targeting. So, to be that specifically and appropriately reactive with his play calling (while his wife is getting ready to push out a little human) gets 5 stars from me.I didn't think Gleeson had his best game. It took him a while to figure out the obvious fact that we could shove it down there throats.
But in the grand scheme the guy has been incredible. I'm actually worried someone will try to poach him at the end of the season.
I don’t think he was talking to you and that one comment. A couple of guys hate him and trash him even when he doesn’t play so they look for reasons when he does play. Loserville.GOR,
Not at all. I thought Art played pretty well today.
The whole mental clock in the pocket has been a problem throughout his career. That being said he probably has the best physical tools of all our QBs and I feel with another year of Gleeson working with him I think that he'll be the starter next year
What is low IQ is your response. You have no clue how great Gleason has been in this turnaround.Gleeson, live and die by him. He may get us out of the cellar but he will not ever get us close to a championship. There is some low IQ coaching these past few weeks going on

The knee jerk emotionality here from some is entertaining though.
