Cal is a very likable guy. I’m not one that blindly follows every choice or decision as infallible. I don’t think he’s the best X and Os coach. I don’t like his screaming pretty much non stop. I see him as a supreme motivator. With the talent he gets he’s going to have a pretty high level of success.

I would like for him to change how he runs the program and make championships the number 1 priority here. I want him to maintain some roster continuity from year to year. If he would do all that I would love him to be our coach for another 15 years or so.
Because he touts the Players First motto you think he is not doing everything to win championships? Please. He wants ,with a passion, to win championships. Players First is a great recruiting tool to use. What does it mean really? He is telling his players, recruits and future recruits that he is putting them first and he will do all he can to help them. JMO

My guess: inside every cynic is a disappointed idealist. The people with Cal in their username who are very visibly negative are probably people who, after the first three years, were expecting that level of success ongoing, with constant Final Fours and a championship every few years.

It's because, while people who somehow don't approve of the job Cal has done come in a number of shapes, sizes, and lifestyles, the number 1 trait that they have in common is...

the mood swings of a 12 year old girl, which causes them to lose all perspective and see mild setbacks as the end of the world and completely misunderstand how seasons and achievements stack up historically.

Way high, way low. Just like how little Jessica in middle school is prepared to marry little Andy at 10 am and then hopes he dies in a fire by the early afternoon.
