Honestly, I don't get all the talk about QBs either. Nutt, as per his history, will find one of them that does enough good things and ride that along with the rest of our personnel strengths to a solid offensive production. Who knows what we'll look like or who will QB, but he's proven he's not really a system coach when it comes to offense. He's much more adaptable than most coaches in that regard.
Nutt, as per his most recent history, with the choice of Masoli, Mackey, and Stanley, picked the guy and promptly went 4-8. That is with the one that was a heisman trophy candidate.
NOW he's going to do better offensively with choice number 2. And so much so, he's going to produce so much offensethat it overcomesthe losses of Powe, Cornell, Walker on defense.
Let me say that more simply two ways. YOU LOST your production on offense and defense. YOU KEPT your coach on defense. OM better be stronger on the OL as that will end your season no matter who is at QB and what Nutt has done in the past.
NOW, if Nutt allows his new Offensive Coord. to do his job and really spread things out using a couple of different qb's and mixing it up, you could win 5-6 games.
That isnt going to happen until things get bad.
For Nutt to keep his job 2 things must happen. There can be no early season embarassing loss. There can be no embarassing loss in the egg bowl (more than 17 points).
I am praying you keep him by the way.
