Where is Reeves?

Been saying to my wife for awhile now, “where’s Reeves?!”
I guess he couldn't talk Reeves into looking at him funny during the pre-game so that he could get him to fake an injury like Wallace had to do last game. I don't even think Reeves had a sleeve on that bad knee he had on Tuesday. He must be a fast healer.

I assume Reeves was on the sideline, watching the win.
BUT, there’s no doubt on this side of the moon that he needed to be in the game for someone (Wheeler played pretty good).
I’m going strictly on his offensive prowess, I don’t know if his man was beating him or not, to be honest.
I’m happy for the nice win.

Cal put him in the witness progtection program. Afraid someone might recognize him on the floor.

Wheeler at least olayed very well, but Reeves still has to play a ton. No excuse at the end of the game to rely on Collins and Toppin to hit FT’s. Luckily Collins nailed them.
Collins is career 76%. I trust him as much as anybody.

I haven't watched game yet it's on dvr but saw this thread. Why did Reeves only play 19 mins and Wheeler 26. Did I miss something?

Said this in the game thread. Cats up 14 eight to go, Cal decided he had enough points And went all defense at that point. Reeves has improved on D but not one of the better defenders. Personally I think that was a mistake but is typical Cal.

Could have lost the game but Collins and Wallace made their FTs.

Cal is stubborn to a fault but you all knew that already.

Is he not the best offensive player? Maybe even the most important player. I don't get it.

Correct , we hold the damn ball and end up going one on one with the shot clock at 5 seconds .. Wallace bailed us out , put its horrible coaching .

A shame a program of this magnitude with a coach that is so into individualism over team. Reeves the main guy that helps Cal win a few games lately then messed over like this. OT being played like a fool on defense but get a pass.
Isn,t this what he always does to certain players. Win a game for him and barely see the floor the next game. Cal's m.o.

Yep. It’s Cals MO. It’s bad strategy and cost him a championship at Memphis (and likely one here as well). And if you are going to do that then you should probably leave the best 1v1 player capable of creating his own shot on any possession on the floor to be your “late shot clock GOOO” guy.

Defense is important but so is offense. Cal doesn’t value offense and overvalues defense. All he sees is that you gave up 8 and not that you would have contributed 15-20 via points and assist and maybe more when you consider just added spacing and being the defenses focal point creating opportunities for others

Football it makes sense to be defensive minded sometimes as there are limited possessions. It’s ignorant in basketball when you alternate possession every 15-30 sec…you need to be able to do both simultaneously

You are especially right about Collins. The kid seldom sees court time but knocked down those free throws at one of the most critical points in the game like he was shooting them in practice.

What do you know one of Cal defenders has slithered out of hiding now that the game is over.
Not my style. Try to call it as I see it. Might be right, might be wrong.
We’ll all live.
Would you be in a better mood if we had lost?

Cal said he got beat on back doors many times so he pulled him. Said Reeves was mad about the way he defended.
I believe the part about him being mad, just knock what he was mad about. So, Cal remove him from the game because he got beat on back cuts, but we were up by double digits. He replaces him with a nonscorer to eliminate the back cuts. However, we lose the double digit lead all the while Oscar couldn't defend the screen and roll if his life depended on it and he remains in the game. To that I say, Cal is a liar.

Cal is so busy running up and down the side court to even consider who is and isn't on the court. If he had both of his shooters on the court, it would be much harder to double Oscar.
Reeves was playing lousy defense tonight. That’s why he was out

Folks, Reeves needs to play a LOT better defense. That's pretty obvious if you're paying attention.
If you are paying attention, Reeves is scoring more points than anyone else on the team. Also if you are paying attention the weakest link defensively now is Oscar. He is getting killed on screen and rolls and he couldn't get off his shot but he stayed in the game. We did better in the closing seconds without him on the court.
