I think her game translates best to Kate Martin--who definitely graduated as a 5-star WNBA player. I'll take that every day.
She played better yesterday. Faster decision making and on ball defense. She still doesn’t know how to defend a screen, however.
She looked overweight to start the season...........maybe she was enjoying the college life a little too much to start the year.
First, because you are cherry picking one example. Finding single data points in a sea of data to prop up what you want to believe, whether that data pt is CC, Juju, Britt, or Madisen McDaniels, is not a way to prove your opinion about Addie.
Second, you need to look at a bunch of data over a bunch of similar players if you want to make rational conclusions. It doesn't seem like you do.
Third, Britt Prince is a 5 star with a 96 ranking. This is identical to Addie. Iowa fans are louder and more, so Addie seems more hyped.
Fourth, most importantly, there are many players >= rank/hype than Addie with similiar, or worse, freshman seasons, especially on good teams. You want a good team, but you want to tear down all the players- somewhat because they are playing less and scoring less--because they are behind really good players. UConn fans behave better than this on their boards tbh. And I hate UConn.
I will apologize if anyone thinks we're being overly critical of AD.
I don't feel JJ is putting her in situations she can't handle, but I bet I'm not the only fan holding my breathe every time she touches the ball.
Hopefully, there's progress in the next 3 games.
BTW: I didn't cherry pick anything, just a player most Iowa fans would know about. I could probably do a deeper dive and find more.

I carefully went through just the 2024 class for now. This is a list of TWELVE players who had similiar or better ranking than Addie. And had similiar or worse numbers than Addie has so far this year. All of them are likely going to be very good--just like she will be.
Deal (5*/96 grade/23rd in class)
Grade is more relevant than class rank, since some classes are stronger. = McDonald's AA.

Morgan Cheli(5*/97/11)
Justice Carlton(5*/97/12)
Madisen McDaniel(5*/97/14)
Kendall Dudley (5*/96/18)

You picked one player to support a point out of a sea of other nonsupporting data. Sorry, but that is the exact definition of cherry picking. Yes, there is data for top players being great their freshman year. But there is plenty of data for that not being the case too.
You weren't as negative as some have been on here for sure though. And I agree Britt had a great first year! Though that last tournament game showed her looking like a freshman at the end, poor girl

Deal turned 20 before practice even started for her freshan season...not many kids are doing that.

Addie missed a year of basketball with her foot injury. She has shown glimpses of high level skill. We are six games into the season, I expect to see her steadily progress as the season goes along.
Looks like you were calling out Deal and her age well before the posts with me. You realize you look like a major tool right? Also appears you need to learn how to spell.
Very good game by Addie. She's getting more comfortable. Saw glimpses in the tourney in Florida. Keep it rolling Addie.
So happy for her, basketball requires confidence to play effectively and it looked like she finally got some of that swagger back last night.

Addie getting her groove is huge if she can continue on that trajectory. Getting that fourth shooter along with CCW, McCabe, and Stremlow to complement their dominance inside makes the Hawks a really tough out.
She was given much more playing time tonight. I think more than 30 minutes. Im sure that helped. She had been playing a few minutes then out, a few more than out, etc. Im sure it helped her get settled in more. Only positive thing with Chit chat missing a few games is it allowed Stremlow and Deal more playing time at the point. As the season goes we are going to need more ball handlers(insert joke here)and good guard play
It didn't. Just more internet BS. Jan would put up with that about as long as Kirk would, and we know how that went for a couple of guys who pulled that with him.
