Change direction every time you mow? Vertical, horizontal and diagonal? Is it good for the grass or doesn’t matter?

I hate mowing, I don't care how my yard looks as long as my garden is weed free

. As soon as I get the cash I'm planting clover.

It be this time of year. Wake up at 0600. Get my coffee. Sip and sigh cuz the back looks already grown out; (whatever happened to April showers grow May flowers, in Nebraska?).

Get dat mower goin. Push that mower all the way. I love the smells and such. There's something refreshing in it all... in between the exhaust ofc; lol.

I generally do the same direction, just because switching it up would be a hassle. Our yard is much longer than it is wide, so do switch the direction would mean alot more U turns than I care to deal with. I push mow our smaller front yard and have a rider for the back. I did have to push the back when the battery on the rider was dead the first mow of the year, but I remedied that quickly

pretty much same way every time.
edge and weed eat every time, too.
most of my neighbors hire it done, i dont mind it for the activity.
had a rat/king snake on patio last summer and he got away from me (havent grabbed a wild one up since i lived in w. omaha years ago, so i was a little timid and tried to use a rake to pick him up and throw him in greenbelt), but id gather the nbrhd owl or a hawk got him - hes never been back. i know there are other varieties that i havent seen yet, that are more aggressive/poisonous and i might just use a shovel on one of those...

We have a little less than two acres. I now half of it because the other half is wooded.

I do my best to switch it up, but it is hard since I’m on a hill and the way my yard is laid out. On the spots where I can’t switch it up I try and move my mower so it isn’t in the same path everytime.

On snakes, which I hate, I’m amazed I haven’t seen one yet. Keeping the lawn trim keeps them away.

I don't mind mowing. I don't really care how my lawn looks though as it looks like I at least take care of it. I don't bag it though because I hate having to dispose of all the grass clippings afterwards.

Front yard is a small hill so don't want to have to push it up and down the hill. The rest of the yard is longer then wide so would require a lot of u-turns as well. I got a self propelled eco electric mower this year. I was worried about battery life but I have mowed 5 times now and the battery lasts a little over an hour which is fine for me. The mower is so much better than my rusty old gas mower that was a struggle to push.

id like to try an eco mower - mostly for noise, but its my understanding bermuda is too nasty for them. and yard size is probably outside battery life.

I haven't run out of battery yet while mowing but the battery itself takes an hour to recharge if you do run out. I don't know about bermuda grass. I know one time I mowed in taller grass that was a little wet and that took a little more battery power.

As far as noise, it is not silent but I can now listen to music without having to have my phone on max volume.

Screw that, why don’t you buy a mower like the Brady bunch had. Down side is you probably have to mow every day

Having a plaid lawn is the only thing in my life I am even slightly anal about...that pattern has to be there. Years ago I had my son start mowing and he now admits that he knew I had to have the pattern ...so he purposely mowed without any pattern....and of course I immediately took back mowing. Smart kid.
