I hope the first thing he does is dismiss all players who are in transfer portals or refuse to play to keep a redshirt. There is no I in TEAM...never was.

What was interesting yesterday was Langan got knocked out of bounds and Art helped him up . Could not help but think “ get out there and HELP”I hope the first thing he does is dismiss all player who are in transfer portals or refuse to play to keep a redshirt. There is no I in TEAM...never was.

So you mean to tell me a man that had a contract and left for the NFL, had a contract with NE and packed it in, is in a position to tell players about quitting. Come on man if the coaches can do it, why can’t the players. How about this when a coach recruits a player and leaves before their eligibility ends, the player has the option of transferring immediately without having to sit out a year. I know we all like to think of the as a game that we all love and played growing up, but when coaches are earning in excess of 3 million a year you can’t deny that this is big business. A worker came to me last week and told me she might be leaving the company, I told her that I didn’t want to lose her and was there anything that we could do to change her mind. I also told her that she must do whatever is best for her family and that if she decided to leave I would be more than happy to write her a reference letter. It’s a business, it isn’t personal.I hope the first thing he does is dismiss all players who are in transfer portals or refuse to play to keep a redshirt. There is no I in TEAM...never was.

So that means he’s not allowed to take any transfers from other teams either. Good luck with that strategy.I hope the first thing he does is dismiss all players who are in transfer portals or refuse to play to keep a redshirt. There is no I in TEAM...never was.

Or players who came to play for Ash and McNulty who got fired vs players who went to play for a coach and don’t like that coach.Right, because the situations are completely identical - players looking for playing time versus players refusing to play

I don’t like what they did or the transfer portal as a whole but they are playing by today’s rules. Leaving for playing time or preserving a year of eligibility when you HC and OC get canned in game 4 are no different to me. We changed our Offense and these 2 have the right to sit a year and either stay or leave just like the kid who wants to transfer for more playing time. In both cases they probably heard one thing when they were recruited and then got another. 4 years goes by really fast for these kids. If they want to extend it a year they should be allowed to. If they don’t like a coach they are allowed to move on. Those are the rules today. If they come back that is good for us. We need as much talent as we can get: just like every other team in the country but more.If you think players refusing to play fits into that model, then I just don't know what to tell you
Exactly. It is also possible the new HC will run a similar Offense to Nunzio and now Art has a year to practice that Offense. Langan is a tough SOB but needs to break the pocket with his eyes downfield. Right now he’s either a statue getting sacked or a tough running QB. Hopefully he can develop or be a great H Back. He a tough dude.Art is sitting because he can't run the offence Nunzio put in. He loves Rutgers and I was told he wants to stay if the new coach runs an offence he can play in.

So he inherits a QB that is doing great for 3 games, so he installs an offense that his buddy from high school knows.Art is sitting because he can't run the offence Nunzio put in. He loves Rutgers and I was told he wants to stay if the new coach runs an offence he can play in.

Then this board blames Sit for red shirting, which is his right to choose what is best for him. RU is a flipping joke, putting
a high school coach to run the team.
But they will trust a kid who transfers from another program? Guess what, this team is going to have a whole new cast of characters and they will all want the best players and coaches around them. If we didn’t fire our HC and OC and these guys decided to sit without the blessing of the staff they would be done here. That’s not the case. New coach coming and he will decide who we keep, who we recruit and who will play. Not you and not me.They made a choice - no way this team would ever except or trust them as teammates again. But, I do wish the very best and much success for them moving forward.

Before Sit chose to sit, NunzioThat isn't what happened at all - Nunzio didn't install a new offense and Art chose to sit. Nunzio is running plays that his QB might succeed with
I was told from someone connected to the team ,that the players understand Art's situation and fully support him.I'd like to see them gone. Can't be good for team moral.
I've always believed that if a coaching change occurs, players should be able to leave. Take Savage at Arizona. He goes there and they switch to Rich Rod who runs a spread. Is he supposed to just suck it up and lose any chance he has to play in the NFL?So you mean to tell me a man that had a contract and left for the NFL, had a contract with NE and packed it in, is in a position to tell players about quitting. Players are bypassing bowl games because to be honest it isn’t a good business decision and risk getting injured. The game that most of us grew up on is over, too much $$$$ involved. What do you think USC will pay UM to coach their team. I think they will throw T least 10 mill at him. It’s not a game it is a business. If you think players refusing to play fits into that model, then I just don't know what to tell you

Sucks we don't have them playing now, but if they stay then we will hopefully have them for a more productive year.
This is exactly the problem. They should NOT understand Art's position. He was a dog sh*t QB as a freshman, but RU and the team stuck by him. He is quitting on them right now, because he knows the team sucks and wants to preserve a year for HIMSELF. Why is he still in the locker room? I can tell you why...because our moronic AD fired the coach for no good reason after 4 games instead of 5 or 6. That has out RU in a difficult decision....but I can tell you that if GS were hired tomorrow I bet anything he would tell them to play or LEAVE.I was told from someone connected to the team ,that the players understand Art's situation and fully support him.

@cubuffsdoug why don't you tell the man what you told Graber about this one? And how it was received? That stories always a hoot. There is no I in TEAM...never was.
Graber said there is no "I" in team, and I responded by saying "but there's 'me' in it." Worst mistake I ever made.@cubuffsdoug why don't you tell the man what you told Graber about this one? And how it was received? That stories always a hoot.

Get ready to be disappointed.I hope the first thing he does is dismiss all players who are in transfer portals or refuse to play to keep a redshirt. . . . .
