As much as he has been maligned on our board here, I think his speed will make a big difference in the pace of game for the Friars and it will be boon to have him in the lineup.

I would really love to see him get out there and put some speed into the game, push the tempo and give us a big boost for not only pace of game purposes but also to help us maybe get over some nerves in making them play faster. Maybe not think to so much about being out there, and just perform like they know how to do.

Great news. Let's hope it creates a lot of positive energy!

Go Big Blue !

1. I was one of the ones who felt like it looked like he quit...so I'll eat the crow
2. But are fans still irritated with another mystery injury deal that took what....5 weeks of missed games? Cal just doing Cal injury reports....vague, possibly lying, etc..?

We go thru this nearly every year now at UK...are fans wrong for being over stuff like this? LIke why are having "Minor surgeries" in season? Why did Oscar wait to have a knee surgery so late to miss early season stuff? It's old to be honest.

When he gets the ball back with 3 seconds left, because nobody else can get a shot, do you want him to shoot it … or just take a clock violation ??
That is a good point. There were numerous occasions when better shooters passed on open shots and passed the ball to Wheeler with almost no time on the shot clock.

I never had a problem with people being upset with Cal for the way he handles injuries (although to be honest I don't think he owes anything to us or the media in terms of the specifics regarding them), I just didn't understand the people who were CERTAIN that Wheeler quit the team and would argue till days end if you thought otherwise. So I appreciate you eating the crow in that standpoint

Fans are wrong for taking out their frustrations with Cal on players.

It’s also gonna let Wallace not have to worry about playing soft because of foul trouble and let him be more aggressive. This is a big deal.

Wheeler probably did quit and the staff probably begged him to play. It’s the dumbest thing that’s happened under cal. Right there with sharpe who cal didn’t want to play last Feb bc of chemistry at one point. Bench a guy who’s killing us, start winning, guy gets mysteriously injured in practice then again to miss senior night. Now 2 months later without any practice he’s ready to play. It don’t pass the sniff test, maybe wheelers grades were bad idk but it’s fishy

Zero q1 wins with wheeler in the lineup. Yeah it’s a big deal. For Cals job and mental health. We aren’t winning tomorrow if wheeler has to play over 12-15 min. That may even be too long

No, it was obvious what was going on, and it was becoming a distraction, so they are going to do what needs to be done.

BTW, he hasn’t officially checked in yet, so don’t put the cart before the horse yet. 10-12 minutes would be the perfect supplement if he indeed does.
He never officially checked out either but that didn’t stop the idiots from saying he quit on the team

I think those are fair questions but no matter what reported someone find a way to twist it around that’s just a fact

Don’t be a *****
Wow! You are brilliant. I am sure it requires an extremely low IQ to spit out that kind of response. I bet your mother is really proud of you for what she got in return for wasting her money on your lack of an education. You represent your family well.

I saw it happen frequently. Sahvir did what he was supposed to do, too, staying at the point and making his self visible and available for the pass if/when teammates wouldn't/couldn't take/get a shot.

Right. I still think he had quit initially. I mean he’s been out for almost a month and a half. He finished the game in which he injured his ankle. Didn’t participate in senior night. I think the optics looked really bad and he returned to more or less save face.

Wonder if he wears a black uniform?

I never said it publicly, but I did feel he was done for the year. Glad to have been wrong and I commend the young man for getting himself back healthy and being ready to do what he needs to help his team. Very impressive in what is clearly a tough situation for him.
Same for me. Thought he might be done for the season but never threw hatred on him. Glad he's back and hopefully gives us some minutes of energy boost backing up Wallace.

Still fail to see how this is great news. Did we not perform better against the best competition without him?

I’d prefer he stay glued to the bench.
yeah but cal likes him so I do too. plus cal's wife wore his jersey so hes like important to them. so he's important to me!
