He’s a 6’8” shooting guard. He’s a good shooter, just streaky as hell. We had a freshman 2-guard once that was maddeningly streaky. He later scored 70 points in one NBA game. Devin Booker.

Reddish will be a top 6-8 pick for sure. One mock I saw this morning on ESPN.com has him #4.
Reddish is playing good ball lately. Hate saying that, but he is.

How am I being negative about UK? It’s a stupid take. Zion is the 2019 equivalent of Anthony Davis.

How do you think the 2012 would have done if Davis was out?
Because the Cats had a much better all around teamwith experience blended in. You should know that you so called UK fan.

Sorry to be Hot Take Harry here, but it needs to be said. Coach Rat Face has done a TERRIBLE job this year. First of all, he has constructed a team with 4 OADs and has ZERO bench. He lost ZW for a few games, but Little Brothel had a 21 pt lead on them. Let that sink in.

They were a half inch away from losing to WAKE FOREST in Cameron. They lost to Syracuse in Cameron. They got swept by UNCheat. Sure, he is still the most successful coach since Wooden, but you wouldn't know it by this season. He basically put it in cruise control when he had 3 top 5 players healthy. Now, they are a mess.
I've said that most of the year. Sure the Duke defenders will say they've dealt with injuries and while that's true it's Duke's roster construction that has made them vulnerable to it.

To be fair I've also criticized Cal for the same recruiting philosophy. Jumping in to the One and Done end of the pool head first is a serious mistake. You lose all control over your roster and you have no safety net for players that don't develop. A wiser choice would be to hold onto 4 scholarships specifically for One and Done recruits and the rest of the roster are chosen for role players that should be 4 year guys. In other words you can't recruit a team of 12 McDonalds AAs. You don't need 12 anyway. 3 or 4 is the most you will get maximum value for at any one time. Having those 3 or 4 with a team full of guys that know their role is the way to go. Otherwise you are just building an AAU team for the pros.

Jokes aside, Marques Bolden going down is a huge loss for Duke that nobody is talking about. 6PPG 5RPG & 2 BPG is a lot of production they’re not going to be able to replace.

Well I hope he continues to do a terrible job in the tournament. Because if they make a run to the national title nothing you just said matters.

I would bet any amount of money Cal would be getting ROASTED nationally and definitely on this board if he'd had 2 championships in that span and had the season K has had this year. Book it.

Doubtful. Cal had an nit season no one said much about it

What are you talking about??? Booker shot 41.1% from 3 at UK. Reddish shoots 33.2%. He may be picked that high but he is terribly overvalued.

They are 26-5 and their three losses without Zion were to UNC twice and on the road to a solid Virginia Tech team. Now they possibly lose all of those anyway, but still.

This would be like if Wall missed the last 6 games of the season, we lost a few games in that span, and then trying to make that season out to be a huge disappointment, when it isn’t even over yet.

Fast forward to the present day,Duke is getting all kinds of credit and consideration for Zion being out(no doubt he is valuable to the team) but we are getting none for Travis being out and we are winning for the most part.(Travis isn't Zion but he is very valuable to this team)

We have a excellent team and a decent chance to win it all if Travis comes back full strength. I personally can't understand why we so obsessed with Duke and ESPN when are post season prospects are so good

Would that team have been Final 4 caliber, let alone winning a title, without Davis? Heck no!!!

That is the equivalent of Williamson being out. Duke is a Sweet 16 team without him, the favorites with him.

I’m not sure what UK roster you’re looking at but Cal doesn’t try to have a team full of McD’s AA’s. I think he tries to build teams exactly like you say you want. The 2015 team might be the exception but that was more by accident than a plan. The Harrison’s were thought to be OAD but they returned, and WCS and Poythress were expected to declare after their sophomore year. As a freshmen Booker wasn’t expected to produce like he did. That’s how the powerful 2015 team came about.

The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament, also known and branded as NCAA March Madness, is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States, currently featuring 68 college basketball teams from the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), to determine the national championship. The tournament was created in 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and was the idea of The Ohio State University coach Harold Olsen.[1] Played mostly during March, it has become one of the most famous annual sporting events in the United States. The Tournament participants are decided by Coach K of the Duke Blue Devils and ESPN/CBS producers. The tournament is then seeded based on the easiest path for Duke to win, which has caused the selection committee to give Duke multiple #1 seedings when in reality they haven’t even won the ACC regular season since 2010. The committee has recently talked about Duke getting an automatic bye until the final four but with the alumni spending so much money on players like Zion Williamson the Duke board has not had enough capital to influence the 2019 selection committee as of now.

I want no part of Duke, especially if Williamson is back. They are a terrible matchup for us.

If Williamson comes back and is 100%, they will win the title.

Even if Williamson is out, they are still one of 5-6 teams that can win it all.

Coach Cal, after taking basically an entirely new group of players, and PJ not expected to blossom (with Coach Cal seeing him along....) NOT being even NOMINATED for NCAA college basketball coach of the year is CRIMINAL!

I mean, seriously.

We lost to Duke by umpteen hundred points to Duke earlier in the year and Coach Cal got this team to where it is now???? It's hands down NO CONTEST as to who COY should be this year, but he wont even get mentioned.

Ridiculous.

He's only most successful because the NCAA made it happen. He is a horrible coach without help.

I know this isn't popular opinion, but Coach K is a horrible coach. Terrible. Without the NCAA help he is no better a coach than Don Cheney.

I don’t know if I agree. With Zion 100%, yeah, they’re definitely one of the top 5 teams to fear. Without him? Well, they came within a roll of losing to an atrociously bad Wake team at home.

I’ll just say this. I would rather play Duke without Williamson, then I would UNC right now.

9 years since Duke won the ACC regular season title

Wow, I would have never guessed that. Man the ACC teams and their fan bases must simply hate Duke with a passion. Fan base is 95% band wagoners. If it weren't for the constant slobber fest 24/7 on ESPN I probably wouldn't resent that program as much. Great program but extremely over privileged.

I have said from the beginning of the season Duke is an outstanding team with Zion. But I have also said Duke will not make the final four. I still think they won’t. K is not a great OAD coach when he doesn’t have outstanding upperclassmen.
Agreed. However K will get a pass since Bolden is out (for the time being), and the media won’t say he “shoulda, woulda, coulda”; they’ll say it was due to Bolden’s missing presence in the paint.

I'm just enjoying all these fans who say they "hate injuries" for the kids, and then come up with a thousand reasons - saturated in relieved tones - for how Duke is at a disadvantage now due to injuries. It's literally the same people making both narratives happen and not noticing how they're logically incoherent.

Funny how that works.

Cal comes to mind.

Probably about the same, actually. Duke's choke jobs in 1999, 2002, 2014, 2017, and 2018 are pretty epic, not to mention the numerous beat downs K's sustained at the hands of the Lehighs of the world. Most of K's choke jobs also featured an abundance of veteran players, too.

But don't let me get in the way of your agenda, troll.

Cal ... One NCAA title ... 2012
K ... Two NCAA titles during Cal's tenure at UK ... 2010 and 2015

And speaking of 2010, Duke took home the bacon while a LOADED Wildcat team (Wall/Cousins/Patterson/et al) choked to WVU.

Oh ... and let's not forget 2013 and our wonderful NIT performance. The good folks at Robert Morris certainly haven't.

Not a lover of Coach K, but Cal has had a plate full of 5-stars while in Lexington and has one title to his name.
