Everyone talks about what a wonderful person CMP is, but when it comes down to it, what is he thinking personally? What’s on his mind? Is he a hardline cynic or a hopeless dreamer who thinks everything is rainbows and sunshine?
He’s had cryptic messages about wanting to kill himself at the beginning of the year and by the end of the season he’s coping in real time on the coach’s show about somehow doing better than Cal did the last 4 years like it’s somehow cutting the mustard. I’ve heard from BYU fans that CMP likes to make a lot of excuses.
Now that he’s lost out on Freeman and Rancik, what is he thinking? He has to think that things aren’t looking good for him. There’s no 4th chance if he screws this up. The walls are closing in and the natives are restless. It’s going to get louder as it becomes all too obvious that Stokes probably isn’t going to be here either.
Next year is looking like a disaster and I still wonder if he thinks he’s doing a good enough job of being allowed to stick around.
