If you go to the RU media guida and look at historical seasons - games at the MSG that are regular season are footnoted with a 5.

Thanks for the heads up on the media guide. It's not just 5, but also footnotes 15, 26, 27, 31, 37, 68, 92, 103, and 105.

Going through the 54 missing arenas in the data from sports-reference, I found 23 more MSG games (10-13). Adding them to the list above:

MSG III (4-2)
(1-0) : Marshall, Missouri, NM, Utat St
(0-1) : NYU, Southern Illinois

MSG IV (41-49)
(7-11) : SJU

(4-0) : WVU
(2-2) : SHU
(1-3) : Notre Dame

(3-0) : Manhattan
(2-1) : Columbia
(1-2) : Cincinnati

(2-0) : Georgetown, LIU
(1-1) : Minnesota, Princeton, Purdue
(0-2) : GTech, Hofstra, UNC, Villanova

(1-0) : American, BYU, DePaul, Fordham, Holy Cross, Indiana, Iona, Iowa St, Ohio State, Penn, Pittsburgh, St. Peter's, Siena, St. Joseph's
(0-1) : Boston College, Connecticut, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Niagara, NC State, Old Dominion, Providence, Syracuse, Tennessee, Texas, USC, Utah, UVA, VTech, Wisconsin

Edit: To add a Cincy game from 2/19/77 that was listed in sports-reference.com as being played in College Ave Gym, but listed in the RU Media Guide as MSG.

I haven't been to the Garden in a long time and can't wait to get back. My 2 favorite memories: the Holiday Classic against Ohio State ended so late because of the 3 ot's that the only train was an express and didn't stop at Metuchen where we had parked. My father had to find somebody to drive us home from New Brunswick about 1 AM and we picked up our car later that day. I think it was the ECAC finals against St John's (that's how we qualified for the NCAAs back then - probably Sellers and Dabney's junior year). Tom Young called timeout to call a play, Phil says give me the ball; eventually Tom says give him the ball and Phil scores the next 6 points or so and RU wins.

Cincy is not correct. We beat them at least once - as previously discussed.

Having broadcasted the Ohio State game at MSG for WRSU , it was one of the best overall games. Bailey and Anderson were outstanding going against Kelvin Ramsey ,who was unstoppable and Herb Williams. However , the Cincinnati beatdown 89-70 when they were ranked and had Pat Cummings, future Knick, was the best we ever played as we were up 25 most of the game .Rodney Duncan kept on throwing lobs and Bailey had 5 or more dunks. The best atmosphere ever was the ECAC Championship in the Final Four year as the Garden was packed with19, 983 people at a fever pitch all game and after being tied with St. John’s at 65, Phil Sellers told Tom Young he was going to beat Beaver Smith and sure enough he did it 3 straight times for our 71-65 win to propel us to the NCAA. The loudest I ever heard MSG and I used to go to the Big East tournament annually. What a trip down memory lane. Looking forward to this crew making new memories starting on Saturday , and with just a little bit of luck the Regionals, Sweet Sixteen later this year if we get a favorable placement.

The 2/19/77 game is listed as College Ave Gym on sports-reference.com, but MSG in the RU media guide. So there may be some missed MSG games on their site that they have listed as home games.

The media guide lists 96 games with the following venues, and sports-reference lists 95 MSG games (either with the arena name or a blank that was identified as MSG from the media guide). So, hopefully the 2/19/77 game is the only missed one. Adding it above.

41 - MSG
19 - Big East Tournament (MSG)
17 - ECAC Holiday Festival (MSG)
11 - NIT (MSG)
3 - Big Ten Championship
2 - ECAC Metro Playoff (MSG)
1 - Madison Square Garden Cl
1 - MSG Holiday Festival
1 - Big Ten Super Saturday (MSG)

Dinky Proctor.
Wow that's a name I haven't heard in at least 30 years.
Still message with Dink periodically on Facebook, especially at Tournament time...he would have been part of that NC St Championship run, but he got hurt in the semifinal game of the ACC Tournament vs UNC..
