So don't, don't, don't, don't let it slip away.
I'm not sure I follow you, especially since you're posting here.
You see a distinction between what people post on twitter and what people post on here in regards to UK basketball?
I know with Twitter, I'm seeing Bozich, Goodman, Crawford, etc - and what they are saying about the loss.
What can they do about it?I also believe that Mitch and Capilouto are asking each other how far they let this go at the moment.
Just in my day to day man on the street activities and the people I talk to , there is a lot bigger % of people fed up with Cal than there ever was fed up with Tubby.
Give me a break. Mitch and Capilouto. Cal’s job is not even close to being in jeopardy. An Elite Eight in 2018 and a team that was in the hunt last year before COVID. Step off the ledge.I can't imagine that the fan base and media hasn't already turned.
ESPN was pretty brutal tonight after the game.
I also believe that Mitch and Capilouto are asking each other how far they let this go at the moment.
No he didnt. And the fans have the ultimate say and power.. boosters have a ton of leverage but when we say we're done thats when things happen. Money ultimately is what drives these decisions and they cant do this without UK fans. After Covid has decimated budgets itll be even harder to go along after next season if butts arent in seats that season. They simply cant afford it. Contracts are all lip service documents....any lawyer can work their way through that if it ever comes to that. Be real man. What can they do about it?
Mitch is now Cal’s boss in title only, but not in reality. He surrendered all leverage to Cal when he gave him that unreal lifetime contract extension.
Probably part of it . I do think more people liked Tubbys personality vs Cals though .Tubby lower expectations
Cal higher expectations

I didn't say his job was in jeopardy, I said how far they will let this go. He is a highly paid coach, he has one of the largest, if not the largest , highest paid staff. They have to question if the current approach is the best fit for Kentucky Basketball. I mean they should be evaluating that with every sport every year. that's the job of an AD and to report that to the president, but a blue chip program has that much more scrutiny. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Mitch asked Cal what he plans on doing to marginalize the issues with roster turnover in the future., and more importantly, what are they doing to improve the quality of basketball we see on the floor.Give me a break. I don't usually post the day of a loss. I know myself well enough to not do that. I will not post except for this. I do not want Cal gone. Okay, that's out of the way. What I need right now is not we are young, the schedule is too hard for these guys. Rather what I need is a coach who mans up and examines himself and his program honestly and recognized systemic issues and addresses them head on even if that means not using the same model he had in 2010 and with elite players. It's 11 years later. What worked then is not working now.
If Cal would step up and say something is wrong with what I'm doing system wise, we are not good. It is my fault and the guys are not playing well, but they and myself and my staff will work our tails off to get it right. I am so sick of the schedule talk, the young talk, the snarky remarks etc. Who controls that? If Cal thinks this fan base and the Lex press won't turn, he's very wrong. Anyway, that's all I have because the rest just is not forum friendly.

Cal “aint” learnin’ ish
Rock bottom gets u gone in the real world. Real circumstances. No matter the results.
Cal is fat stubborn & clueluss.
What UK “simply can’t afford“ is a buyout of a contract that obligates it to pay $10 million per year through the year 2029. Sorry, fella, but there are no fancy lawyer tricks enabling UK to get out of that contract. No he didnt. And the fans have the ultimate say and power.. boosters have a ton of leverage but when we say we're done thats when things happen. and you’ll gladly accept 3-4 more years of that.3 -4 years of .500 ball or so. That would get him fired. Maybe more. Cal isn’t going anywhere.
Firing isn't in the discussion. Cal will leave before that happens. He will not allow himself to be fired at Kentucky. I think at one time Cal wanted to replace Joe B. Hall as the old wisened coach who has the run of the place and the best seat in the house at games. I don't know if that appeals to him anymore, but he isn't going to let it get to a firing situation. He'll walk if it doesn't get better and that is within 2 years. I think he wants to be able to be around the UK program after he quits coaching.3 -4 years of .500 ball or so. That would get him fired. Maybe more. Cal isn’t going anywhere.
Tell him how you really feel princess. Quit slurping.I kinda see where you are coming from but it’s pointless. What I want is to know that somebody is working on passing, defensive skills and decision making, spacing, etc. all the things we are doing wrong. Folks are worried about fluff. I’m worried about the things we need to play better fundamental basketball. With better fundamentals and execution, we’d be 3-1 or 4-0 now.
We’ve got a little breathing room here practice wise, I can deal with the losses. It’s athletics and you are not ever guaranteed a win. I do expect improvement. We have not been seeing that. Let’s hope it gets done in practice.
I hope you're right. Cal needs held accountable. His way, his problem.Yes. Once one has the guts to, other will. The questions will being to get less soft beginning now and the snarky responses will not fly very soon. IMO of course.

You may be right. Without knowing the minutiae of Cal's contract, Im not gonna go back and forth or die on a hill arguing about it because yes, I dont know what verbiage it contains to act like Im an expert on it.What UK “simply can’t afford“ is a buyout of a contract that obligates it to pay $10 million per year through the year 2029. Firing Cal is simply not a realistic option for the foreseeable future. Some posters here need to come to terms with that reality.

I just looked at the schedule thru january. I'm not sure we win 2 more games in December from ND, UL, UCLA and Det Mercy. I don't think we can go 3-1 to get to .500 before conference play. Then IDK if this team can go .500 in conf right now.Do you think this team will play .500 ball this year? I’d say that while they can, the jury is certainly still out at this point. If they get to the SEC under .500 I’d say it’s almost a given they won’t.

********. You chickened out. Just like I figured.I just did.
if he turns it around, if it doesn't I give him 2 years. You keep saying what you think. You are forgetting what he and his management think. I haven’t seen a single hint he plans to leave. If what the haters say is true about the NBA being his sole focus, that’s going swimmingly. Why would he leave? Of course the haters are wrong, but bottom line Cal won’t leave till he gets good and ready. I suspect 5 years minimum.
To answer your question, in my opinion, he has won a championship here, he has plenty of $$, and he doesn’t answer to anyone. ComplacentHe also said he wanted to pass UCLA in NCAA Championships before he left UK. What happened to that coach with a chip on his shoulder to PROVE to the world he was the man to do it too??!!!!
When he said a few years after he arrived that the UK job was like the Presidency in that it ages you quickly and that 10 years was about the longest a coach should stay here, I worried that he would leave. Now I see what he was talking about, but he has forgotten it. He has become jaded toward the portion of the fan base and media that question his moves, he's set in his ways even though he KNOWS they aren't working anymore, he LIES about injuries and player's playing status and he is contradicting all of his tired cliches that all UK fans have heard ad nauseum.
SAD
Some were definitely surprised he left it when he did.if he turns it around, if it doesn't I give him 2 years.
what we both agree on is that he won't leave until he is ready, but you thought that already which is why you put out that ridiculous 3 or 4 .500 seasons statement trying to get a rise out of people.
The UK fan base can make it miserable for Cal. If its true about him leaving the post game presser early, then he is already being affected by it. If we have a crap season this year and next year isn't looking better, Cal will leave well before 5 years. He's already said a decade was as long as you last on this job when he got here. Now he's fighting against the clock.
They played MSU tight. This may be Mike Anderson's ultimate Super Bowl eh Cal? Ugh at the thought of it.Honestly.....what do we do if we lose to Detroit? Serious question. Its not hyperbole to say that would be any worse than any single Gillispie loss. Hell, Cal already gave us the Bob Morris game that seems to be lost to history.
I may have to borrow the one on your nightstand. He’ll be gone sooner than later if these shitshows continue.Get yourself a Cal picture and piss on it every day if that makes you feel better. Cry all you want, he ain’t leaving.
Losing to the team his son plays on is going to be problematic on more than one level. They played MSU tight. This may be Mike Anderson's ultimate Super Bowl eh Cal? Ugh at the thought of it.
