"QG is going to have to sleep in the bed he made. he had his chance to stop this" What's this mean? Cal told Green he would get him to the nba in two years when he was choosing between Syracuse and UK. I remember reading that by one of his relatives.
I would like to see that article, if Cal said that he must not have been feeling well. At the end of the day, you have to be the one to stand out to get the NBA's attention. Quade needs to work on some things this summer and show it next season but DO NOT RUN FROM COMPETITION. When you get to the league there is someone always after your spot.

True , but U6 played zone 95% of that game and in those days Cal would rather lose than play zone , evidently.
I know, but that's part of a team's style of play...

U6 was committed to the zone and that's what kept UCONN's guards out of the paint...

Against us, UCONN's guards got into the lane AT WILL!

Don't blame Quade for having doubts. He comes to UK highly regarded. Starts early in the year and plays pretty well. Gets injured, loses his starting nod. He's asked to be a spot up shooter rather than a play maker. Cal brings in 2 more point guards during the off-season. His mind has to be like "wth" mode. Nonetheless, the kid is very talented and will have his chance to shine next year. It's up to him to see that.

@CoachX11

Keep on bringing it

Remember haters going to hate

Stone the guy never gives any substance. All after the fact BS that anyone can find anytime. And he's been wrong consistently. I know people want to believe it, but the best source right now is the new guy on HOB. This guy might be a coach somewhere but he does not have good info. Some of it is actually a rewrite of this board if you follow carefully enough.

The guy followed me around under another name acting like a 12 year old pissed off that I called him on it. Use your head man.

Personally, I think he's just lying about what he knows. But That's me/

Perhaps if he follows the SGA school of hard work and preparation he could be top 20 next year

Can you imagine what kind of players we would have if they all had the same work ethic as MKG, Ulis and SGA? Even the transcendent players

Green needs to work hard on getting a degree because he is never going to make a lot of money playing basketball. Sorry, I just don't see the necessary skills and athleticism needed to play for big money at the next level. Also, if he decides to transfer he might be able to get more minutes and play in front of his family and friends. He could be the star at another school instead of coming off the bench at UK. Just my two cents worth.

The kid is a hard worker, he had a back injury that is tough to bounce back from. When he came back he did the best he could and thought that he hit key shots for us.

I mean that would make sense but the rumors of Quade transferring started in January, then Cal knows he has to plan for the eventuality. After the season ends, he has to replace Shai...remember Ryan Harrow? How only having Harrow as a viable option at point infuriated Cal! I believe it was Harrow who lost the ball And Noel was at full out Sprint to stop layup by Florida...so yes Cal, have a backup of a backup please! Kid hasn't reclassified yet, knowing NCAA they may find a reason to not allow it, for both Hagams and Unsigned/uncommitted Maxey. It would be stupid of Cal not to plan and have the best alternatives.

Fair enough

I believe he is legit.

Maybe he could post a picture of his school's practice facility or locker room or something to show some credibility. There are a lot more worse posters here...

Oh he's ok. I've said I could believe he coaches somewhere. But he's misleading on the info part.

On RR there really aren't many goood sources. ON HOB there are a number of great ones. RR's best source is z and he always words things horribly so people take things very matter of factly and then people get pissed at him. If Gabriel is thinking about leaving Z will say Gabriel is Gone. Instead of Gabriel is seriously considering leaving. He should take a cue from Bee who is also a good source and words things much better. I have always said HOB is well worth the money and now with Jackson and Sisk working for them it has increased 10x. OK cheerleading for HOB over. LOL .

Sisk is why I re-joined. @JRowland i didn't even worry about the free hoodie.

But if I can get a discount code for locker room access to one game with my kid I'll sign up on a 10 year contract.

I've thought about joining many times over the years . But ,all the info is gonna come out eventually anyway , so how can people justify spending money just to find out a little earlier? Am I missing something?

I feel really bad for kids like Quade who have all these people in their heads telling him what to do. They are wanting him to make money for THEM. That has got to be a tremendous amount of pressure to think your decision is based on the fact you need to be the breadwinner in your family for SEVERAL people. I've always wondered do these people have jobs or are they just expecting Quade to support rhem? Rhis applies to other kids and also other schools.

I don't think like that as most athletes even the best of the best work as hard or harder than anyone. I guarantee no golfer has ever worked harder than Tiger Woods and he was better than everyone by a mile. He would hit balls until dark after he was leading every round because he thought he could be even better.

I said this just the other day myself. Seems some people had kids to hope they could live the easy life.

I think I phrased what I meant poorly
I have no doubt they all work harder than most of us do. I was referring to the stories of MKGs breakfast club and SGA watching film and being in the gym those extra hours alone. Little things that stood out above and beyond what the rest do

Yeah I understood that. I know there are many athletes that have more talent who if they had the drive would be way better than they should be. Michael Beasley always stands out to me as someone who was this way.

a whole lot. Improved his vision and muscle memory from 20 feet apparently.

As long as Cal is coaching and it's post circa 2015, yes.
Bull. Most of the drama is created by numbskulls on this board who post 'inside sources' and 'special knowledge' of what 16-19 kid is thinking, doing, going. None of these posts are made by anyone with ANY degree on real knowledge about the kids, or the game of basketball beyond their high school days.

And the worse drama comes from the ones who can't coach a rat to eat cheese, acting like THEY know what's best for UK coaching and recruiting. Be honest with yourself. No one is ever going to follow your advice about recruiting or coaching, do all the vitriol and drama is just pissing in the wind. You just have no idea what you are talking about.

These kids don’t believe Cal after 2 years. Sometimes after 1. Sorta the reason why it pissed me off when Cal told Tyler Ulis not to come here if he didn’t think he was a one and done. People know I’ve said this since it happened. If you know me as a poster, you know I’ve said it. Was dumb. DUMB.
I'm pretty Damn sure Cal told him not to come here if he didn't think he could be an nba player. I could be wrong. No way he could have been one and done with Andrew returning.

Here’s a couple of quotes from this article written after Quade committed: https://www.cityofbasketballlove.com/news_article/show/724158

Ultimately, it was the opportunity to start immediately that cemented Lexington, Kentucky as his college destination.

“‘That was [Calipari’s] only pitch to me,’” Green said. “‘He told me to come in and I was gonna play and be the starting point guard for the upcoming team. After that, I just decided it’s my best option I had.’ . . . ‘He struggled with this, he struggled with this decision. He has a lot of love for Syracuse University and their coaching staff,’ Arrigale added. ‘It just came down to what he thought was best for his development moving forward. Quade wants to play in the NBA someday, and Kentucky produces NBA players.’”

[Mike-D and michaeluk26, here’s where you can find where Cal told Ulis not to come if he wanted to be a four year point guard, i.e., he believed in his ability: https://www.courier-journal.com/sto...-makes-three-cats-leaving-early-nba/82709536/]

Suprised Cal promised him that...but most assumed Green would start at PG. Alexander was just a lot better in the end.

We also don’t know what Cal told him. Cal doesn’t have a track record for promising starting spots. It certainly was his for the taking.
