Hey folks, want to touch on Quade real quick and give you some insight on what is going on with Quade Green.

This is a big case of adults pressuring a kid and literally all in his head.

First let it be known that Quade had a very large group in his circle that didn’t want him going to UK. He chose UK, and that group is now extremely loud on him leaving to be closer to home.

Quade comes from a large family circle and quite frankly not a whole lot of money. Quade has a whole lot of pressure on him to be a bread maker. There isn’t a whole lot of educational history in his family so I’m worried not enough emphasis is being placed on him earning a degree.

When Quade moved to a reserve role, it was the first time anyone in his circle saw him sit, and that upset some, including him. People back home, people I’m personally friends with started feeding a lot of negativity in his ear.

From my understand, Coach Cal through he was selfish. Which is a big no-no if you coach thinks that. There was tear in that relationship for a while, but it got fixed during a heart to heart at some point.

Cal has also told recruits that he’s expecting to lose all his guards.

I vaguely remember seeing a quote basically saying that Cal was still waiting on a couple to break through. Quade was his main target.

He played almost 30 minutes a game as a freshmen. After watching him this year, I really worry about his lack of athletic ability at the next level. However, there is still value to be in college for a few years.

Quade is a good kid, and I think at the end of the day he wants to be at UK. It’ll be interesting to see what his circle does from here.

As much as I love Quade, if his circle is going to be this much of an influence it may be better to go their separate ways. Kind of sad for both involved.

If he does leave, keep Temple in the back view. There isn’t a scholarship for him right now, but they’ll make one. There is also a pretty good connection with UCONN and Syracuse. I saw LaSalle on Twitter. I don’t think that would be preferred destination.

Lastly, know that the people we are mutually associated with are encouraging another year at UK then reevaluate it.

Oh, lastly I won’t name this person as it may hurt his chances. But there is a Northeatern grad transfer that UK hasn’t talked to personally but have sent feelers for. So seems like the UK staff is doing a lot of work.

in the Facebook documentary he tells the team he expected Quade to have a 25 point game soon because Quade had "conquered himself finally", where most took that to be likely ******** motivation to just go out and play and not think.

Makes sense.

Sad for Quade, because it doesn't look like he is going to end up in the league. I hope he hones his game though and can play overseas. Sucks when family and friends are counting on you to make it big.

Quade Green is never gonna make enough money to support a dozen or so folks. Just ain't gonna happen. Never was gonna happen. He's really good and could be a GREAT college guard, but that doesn't necessarily translate to millions.

That's where the UK system is sometimes perceived as being broken. It's not about college. It's about the NBA/pro ball.

Quade is a 4 year player. That's not going to change here, UConn, Temple, Timbuktu, wherever. Perhaps, transferring home is the right option. His family will have 3 seasons to watch him and celebrate a full family Senior Night.

If his inner circle is wanting him to make money sooner, I don’t see how transferring accomplishes that. It just puts him another year behind. If he and his family want to be closer, then that is hard to argue.

Frank Mason. 3-star recruit. Under 6 feet tall. Sucked his first two years.

Millionaire.

These kids don’t believe Cal after 2 years. Sometimes after 1. Sorta the reason why it pissed me off when Cal told Tyler Ulis not to come here if he didn’t think he was a one and done. People know I’ve said this since it happened. If you know me as a poster, you know I’ve said it. Was dumb. DUMB.

don't tell him that. He doesn't wanna hear it. Neither does Charles Matthews (he is). So was Briscoe and Humphries but they bailed to play pro ball in the asscrack of pro ball leagues (Humphries isn't even playing in Australia anymore).

Hump turned down Australia to go to Europe.. Because he's actually good.

I really don't know what to make of this fan base right now. Green as a Freshman was 9 and 3.. Godforbid he doesn't put up John Wall numbers and we're fine casting him off?

What are some of you going to do when Cal retires?

The Kentucky effect as good as it sounds is also a curse. When you come to uk you're expected to be there two years or less then heading off to the NBA. I hope guys like herro baker and green(if he stays) can change that way of thinking. Guys come here for the NBA fast track and when it doesn't happen in two years max they become disgruntled. Our success is also our curse. It sucks but until the rule changes it will be the same. Even 3 and 4 atar guys that come here expect to be gone after two years and if that doesn't happen they explore other options. Hump, briscoe, wiltjer, lee, Matthews, and now possibly green. Our success is also a curse. I'm glad cal is trying to change that though by not bringing in the top 5 every year so we don't have a turnover every year

Cal looks 80. The roster turnover is surely taking an enormous effect on him. I saw a twatter video he put out but quickly deleted where he was applying for AARP but Ellen reminded him he wasn't old enough yet.

It was up maybe 15 seconds but I caught it. Wish I would've saved it.

He didn't age like this in his almost decade at Memphis.

Plus Cal's a fat now. All the fast food places in Lexington need to refuse to serve him anything but a salad about like Job B had em do Turpin in the 80s.

So if Hagans and Maxey and Quickley don't QUITE pan out? We, as fans going to cast them off to? Because of a ranking number for the next High school junior recruit? Because he has 5 stars next to his name?

Never said he wasn't EXACTLY who I wanted (cause he is), and we still don't know what was exchanged between he and Green.

But he won't be here forever. That's my point. And I'm not sure a poster like the Colonel is going to be able to live with the paltry sub top10 recruits we might be stuck with. To think.. A freshman trying to run the point with no other experience around him.. How dare he not average 18 and 8.

No... they'll cast themselves off to either the NBA draft no matter what their projections are, Mali for a living hoping to make 50k, or transfer to another program in hopes they can get better and showcase themselves more after sitting out a year and getting a year older.

The fans would love to have em stick around, I'm sure.

And where does that leave us then? A bunch of early loses and a bad start to SEC cause the players still don't know how to play together? You push out these possible veterans, and we'll be stuck with a 4 or 5 seed again and again.. and put in regions that we have little chance to win.

Kentucky in 2012 was the closest a 1AD (close in the sense of being mostly freshman) team got to winning the title.. After that it has not worked, aside from a fluke Final4 or two.

We agree on every single thing except the fluke Duke thing. In 2015, I feel like UK would've beaten Duke in the final but UK had to play a better team in the Final Four. I believe that Wisconsin team was better than Duke but having to play UK in the Final Four and then turning around 2 days later and having to play that Duke team was too much. The makeup of that Duke team almost mirrored the UK 2012 team.

But yea. if things don't change UK is likely to continue to have several early season losses, stumble their way through conference while the team learns how to play/Cal learns how to coach em, get a 4-5 seed at best, and then hope for some upsets.

Cal has to learn how to convince some guys to hang around 3-4 years. Has to.

That's uh.. different than what I thought your take was above. Hard to tell what's facetious and what isn't on the forums.

These recruits aren't "bailing" (if that post above was sarcasm, again hard to tell).. it seems they are leaving in part because they are unsure of their roles.

It's a message board. Nobody is ever 100% accurate expect the weynen teammate. I respect what coach has to say he is though and never says something is definitely going to happen. He puts out what he heard just like our own little creepers who follow highschool kids on twitter. I could understand if he was guaranteeing something, but we all know it changes like the wind. Take it all with a grain of salt
