1) Recruiting. Up until this season I think he's done a reasonably good job recruiting talent to NU. Both instate and out of state. Classes have been Top-25 all prior seasons.
2) Generally good demeanor on and off the field
3) Adjustments: The team does seem to adjust better than prior NU teams at halftime so games tend to be closer. Unfortunately we always seem to be playing from behind.
I can't think of anything else
What has Frost not done well?
1) Player Retention: Recruits have left in stunning numbers over the past few seasons. Some attrition is good and expected, but a lot of players that could have been contributors ditched the program.
2) Player Development: Players rarely seem to improve markedly after several season. Some seem to regress. Rarely gets backups at key position on the field.
3) Game Management: Play-calling and game-time decisions are frustrating and play a role in losing close games. I can't think if a single game he outcoached the opponent.
4) Filling Roster Holes: Hasn't utilized the portal as necessary to fill roster spots. Failed to recruit the right fits at times for the offense (QBs that can execute the playbook).
5) Instilling Disciple: Team regularly commits more penalties than the opposition. Sometimes the officiating seems biased, but more often the team just commits self-destructive penalties. Turnovers have been a chronic issue as well.
6) Preparedness: Team often looks clueless when the opposing team does anything unexpected. Special Teams, clock management, etc look as though they are only coached briefly and aren't a priority.
7) Staff: Position coaches seem to be overly assured of their jobs even when the product on the field is lacking.
