An interesting week where the good and not as good start to separate.

1 - That Rice is a legit 8A contender.
2 - That this is not your cousins Loyola Ramblers
3 - That finally a Lincoln Way lost
4 - That the best team in 1A is Stockton and it isn’t close.
5 - That the wild wild WSC Silver is livi no up to its rep.
6 - That Althoff and Chicago Christian may not repeat this year unless giving up a combined 131 points this week is a good thing
7 - That Glenwood is a beast in the CS8
8 - That Libertyville is not last years Libertyville
9 - That Joliet Catholic is no longer on life support just a little sleepy though
10 - That very quietly Montini is really good again. Shhhh

That’s all folks - for now.

That 1-3 Lockport needs to figure things out if they want to make the playoffs.

That Marist has a difficult time streaming a football game.

BTW, Rice is projected to be in 7A where they have established themselves to be the favorites, IMO.
I wanted to mention this back when they played Rice.

Still can’t believe that Marist is so far behind all the others in the streaming game.

I’m really surprised that they don’t have an on air team with the number of kids they have in that school.

I would think they could produce a co ed project that would be the envy of every other school.

Lincoln-Way East starting defense has not given up a touchdown yet. Neuqua Valley scored late against the 2nd team defense and their special teams let up 2 kick-off return TDs against Lockport.

That whoever from JC that did the alternative iPhone stream from the Marist-JC game deserves huge props!

Moline/Quincy: Both have established themselves as the team to beat in the conference. Next week they will settle who the top one is.

Sterling: Something changed at half time for the Golden Warriors...

Geneseo: They can hammer the lesser teams. Have to figure out how to move the ball against the better ones.

UT: The wheels may have fallen off against Sterling, but this team is still dangerous.

Galesburg: Feels pretty good at 2-2 currently, but the road get's awhooooole lot tougher.

Rock Island: That fire is still burning.

Alleman: Don't have the horses to go a full game currently.

Not sure Stockton is the clear choice in 1A. I would still put money on Le-Win!

Do you think JCA will pull out enough wins to get in? I know their schedule looks ugly!

Hope so.

Absolutely have to beat DLS and ND to get to 3 total wins. Then you have to steal one win from Naz, MC, or Providence to get that fourth win.

I would imagine four wins is very likely to get them in the dance with their playoff points that they will have.

Who is the 1A favorite then?
I don't know if there is a clear favorite to tell the truth. I believe Le-Win went into the Stockton game thinking "once we get on the field the game is ours" and they couldn't stop what hit them. Shell shocked would be the word I would use.

Camp Point
Hardin Calhoun
Stockton
Le-Win
Sterling Newman

These are in the race from what I have seen this year...

Maine is a thousand miles from here. What is Maine South doing in Park Ridge?
Maine Township in Cook County, Illinois, traces its name back to the early settlers who came from the state of Maine in the early 1800s.

Here’s the background:

The area was originally settled in the 1830s, with many pioneers arriving from New England.

A number of the earliest families were from Cumberland County, Maine, and they carried the name with them.

When the township was formally organized in 1850, they chose "Maine" to honor their home state.

Indeed, a beast. But we learned a lot more about a certain top-tier 4A CS8 member... and they look poised to make another run... the Patriots dynasty "gap" is over folks. Rochester has finally reloaded.

The scary part for everyone else you might ask?

They're doing this without an amazing QB. He's ok, but he's not what anyone who's followed Rochester football for the past 20 years is accustomed to under center for a Derek Leonard Highlight Squad...

Although admittedly long-shots, even Brown County and Wethersfield have a small chance this year.

Im watching Brown County forsure true but I have to see them against a tougher team. Wethersfield is in the same boat... Play someone tough and lets see what ya have!~
