How are you going to get home from Europe when all the flights to and from the US have been banned? JW
Ban doesn’t start until midnight March 13. I am on a flight to the US from London at 12:30 pm today (March 13), arriving well before the new travel ban starts. After that, flights aren’t “banned”, just anyone coming from the EU that isn’t a US citizen won’t be allowed to travel to the US. This doesn’t count the UK.

Gonna be fun for my grandkids and great grandchildren to look back and see who their ancestors were. And they may wonder why the genetic trait is favoring those with only one tooth and limited advanced education. All they have to do is look at this site to understand why. Brains went out the window, and horse sense crawled through the cracks. What goes around comes around.

I’m a full time musician. I get no paid time off.

Most of my gigs are being cancelled... I’m scared about how to make money and pay my bills/rent.

There are so many other Americans like myself who work hard, but our various fields don’t offer paid time off for various reasons... it’s so scary.
Okay, I'm in Louisville, and not only am I a musician, I've worked in a music store for 34 years.

Spill it...Who are ya??

I am taking this serious. Some of you can make light of this if you wish. I spoke with my doctor to get his personal view of all this and from that conversation, I feel better about all this.
This is a serious illness; what makes it so serious is there is no vaccine for it yet. When they do get one, it will be like getting a flu shot. Until that day happens, everyone needs to practice some hygiene common sense
I travel to all parts of the city everyday and my exposure to crap is high.
So, my wife and I are preparing for the worst case scenario.
I have stocked on viagra, toilet paper, bought a new longer water hose ( in case I run out of toilet paper I will run a hose to my toilet and make my own bidet) , dog food, some food, ( can always can delivery) picked up an extra bag of weed since we will be spending more time in the hot tub, other then that, I am staying the F away from everyone.
Just too many cooties going around.

Nothing really. I'm not apathetic to it, but I also think ppl are scared of the word pandemic.

If nurses and doctors at local hospitals arent worried, other than the influx of ppl coming in thinking they have it bc they sneezed, I'm not sure why everyone else is losing their mind. They are at risk, I know some that think theyve already had it. It's likely many people have had it already and didnt think much of it. 80% are mild symptoms...fever, cough, maybe fatigue. It obviously could vary. They're reporting almost 50% that were on that cruise were asymptomatic. Others said they had a fever of 100 for a day, felt different, then that was it.
The ones that have died of course make the news. At some point someone you know will have it, probably an upper respiratory infection. Are you unhealthy, do you have asthma, are you old, what's up with your heart. Do you smoke...italy..ppl f'n smoke like trains. Otherwise, you could be an anomaly...but chances are, you're going to be alright. I've been going to a full gym everyday that's got to be crawling with bacteria, etc. I'm not stopping going.

I think the bigger question is if you're one of those ppl that bought 400 rolls of toilet paper do I want to be around you. And if you just now decided to wash your hands...you're nasty.

It will probably drag out a few months, but the main reason for cancelling crowds, is to stop a high spike at once that could overwhelm hospitals. The total number over time will be probably be equal but at a lower average.

I just looked...flights are damn cheap, some airlines 90% off. I just looked up flights from Lexington to Hawaii round trip and they're cheap as hell...so actually I might do that.

I guess I have to take it seriously as i do the flu. I got some elderly family who we check on quite often. They can't handle this or the flu, so we will just take the common sense approach to be able to assist them.

I'm not so sure that the best solution wouldn't be to get the virus at it's peak fast. Get well and go on. Shutting the world down is prolonging the inevitable

What's makes it serious is that it is killing the elderly at a 20% rate as it becomes viral pneumonia.
The flu is only 1%...
