No offense op but you got give credit where it's due. You must of forgotten about the biggest recruit bcg had. The legend Matt pilgrim. You also left off hunter McClintock. Hampton would of made a final four with him at the very least and we would have had two more titles. Greatest player since Shawn kemp to never step foot on the floor at uk

UK won 7 national championships before John Calipari got here. You can go back into history as far as you want and find unsuccessful UK players and potential recruits to pick on, because plenty of them existed here in the 1960s and 70s too. The important point here is that Calipari is changing college basketball and driving the public discourse on rules that govern the transition of amateur basketball players to the NBA. Calipari could not have done that in Memphis. So this is a symbiotic relationship. UK has given a huge boost to Calipari's coaching career, and Calipari has improved UK's basketball program. But there have been other times in history when UK basketball was at the national pinnacle. Let's live in the present and enjoy it while it lasts.

And because of that , we didn't have a scholarship to offer Lofton .I remember when Tubby offered Morikyno Williams. He was playing in the DC area so I looked him up. He wasn't even mentioned in the lists of local players in Northern Virginia that went 30 players deep. Then I saw him play, and knew why.
Worse was Adam Williams. As I recall he basically offered himself, and Tubby just went along with it, though he was basically an average player.
YES!!! That dubious list leaves me just completely shaking my head in wonderment. Coach Cal is, in fact, the most amazing recruiter in the history of college sports...maybe only Geno is in the same league. But this list shows just how inexplicably low the expectations had become. Wow!

To be fair, Bobby perry had a couple decent last seasons. The rest were bad.The beginning of the end of Tubby Smith.....
Sheray Thomas
Shagari Alleyne
Bobby Perry
Lukasz Orbzut
This was the recruiting class replacing Hawkins, Fitch and Daniels with Chuck Hayes going into his senior year.
We went on that year to lose to UAB in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
It was a slow, leaky tire from here on out.

He would be coming off the bench with Johnny David in Cal's system. No slam on Bobby.....he was a good player for a WKU level program and a great kid.To be fair, Bobby perry had a couple decent last seasons. The rest were bad.
Oh I agree. Just stating that his last 2 seasons were not bad.He would be coming off the bench with Johnny David in Cal's system. No slam on Bobby.....he was a good player for a WKU level program and a great kid.
That Perry a kid from freaking Durham, NC and had zero interest from dook and unc should have been huge giagantic red flags for a certain coach...
