You are still blinded by the Calipari BS. Open your eyes. It is right in front of you.

I am not blinded by anything. I live in reality. There are things I love about Cal and things that drive me crazy...long story short I don't think he has an agenda against Allen or UK. That is what is being insinuated if you think (if you agreeing w that post) he wanted Allen to fail, sorry that is StUpId.

For the record I have always wanted Allen to play.

Dude
It’s fine to disagree with a strategy but to say utter bologna is distasteful.
This is so wrong. Nothing Tasty like a fried bologna sandwich with mustard and lettuce

Ahhhh my sweet lord, fried bologna is one of the worst foods that people legitimately enjoy and I’ll eat near anything. Can’t stand the smell of fried bologna at all.

Man, it was tongue in cheek. I don't think Cal wants anyone to fail. At least he's hearing the fans though.

Yes i see him as darius miller type if it was not for him we would not have won in 2012 was miller time when he checked in
I said the same thing about Miller and you would not believe the consternation it caused on the board. I was pretty much flamed and called everything but a good milk cow for my comment but he was a big factor in our National Title win.

I’m not going to go back through threads as I don’t have the time to waste on that, but as I recall I had seen 15-20 separate instances insisting that Cal is doing this for reasons other than at the end of the season putting the best roster on the floor. Again his strategy has to do with giving players with the most upside the most minutes to get them experience, not spiting the fans, players from KY, playing favorites or any of the other conspiracy theories going around.

I totally understand disagreeing with or plain hating that strategy but argue the strategy not conspiracies.
I wasn't asking you to go through threads, you said the comment was in THIS thread, so I don't get the issue.

Only agenda Cal has is giving too much leash to his 5 stars who are struggling, while not trying different lineups to win games. No, Cal has no agenda toward Allen, but I think he does against the fans.

I would have to see tape on that one.

Awful convenient. But, I like that he’s now either willing or being forced to acknowledge what many here have said all along—Allen needs to play at the expense of other more highly rated players time.

FTR—I hate pat on the back posts. I never claimed Allen was a stud but I saw many on here do so and they deserve credit.
Well, yeah. You don’t average 43 points a game (with a large sample size) in high school by accident. That’s elite scoring prowess, no matter the level of competition IMO. The kid is wired to get buckets. He also averaged double digit rebounds.

Dude is legit. Many of us have been saying it forever. Only question I had, was would he be able to return to form after the injuries.

Haha. Post a list of ingredients from a “I’ll eat near anything “ food you like. Let’s compare. Not picking on you at all. Baloney can be good fried. Or dipped in hot sauce. Or just by its lonesome. I’m sure Andy wouldn’t like it, but he don’t qualify for it, you know?

Against some fans, I am sure he does. He is on social media and sees what fans say about his players. I'd be pissed to quite frankly.

Time to be fair to Cal. He did insert Allen early in the first half . And yes he would have stuck with Boston but he knows we cannot win an SEC championship without getting Clarke and Boston performing as well. Allen is not going to get 15-20 every game.
He doesn't have to get that many every game. He is a real threat from the outside which helps the whole offense open up. Teams will have to account for him.
Every UK fan wants Clarke and Boston to start playing better, but UK will need more thn them to win with this team. Neither of them has put a scare into other teams yet.
The game now is spread it out and space the floor. Make teams defend the whole court.Allen will create space for the post and for the wings to be able to drive.

As a kid growing up in Marrowbone. We would leave the fields and go to Stovers grocery for lunch, usually bologna. We always called it Barren County ham, since we couldn’t afford real ham. Nell Stover would ask you how thick you wanted it and cut it off a big loaf.

I love some legit German style bologna just keep the butter and fry pan away from it. When I say I’ll eat just about anything I think it’s quicker to list foods I don’t like than foods I do.

Chickin’ in a Biskit crackers
Sour cream and onion chips (love SCnO dip but that powder is nasty)
Fried portabella mushrooms
Sweet tea (lol I’m sure I’ll get **** for this one but unsweetened iced tea is delicious—love it to pieces)
Eggnog
Chitlins
Mashed lentil soup
Oysters of any style

Other than that I like just about anything, I’m sure there are a ton of exotic things I haven’t tried that I might not like but for the most part I’m down for anything.

Surprised Cal didn't hit the kid with a trash can with the way he wants Dontaie to fail. Yes, I know that's ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the fans who claim Cal has benched the kid because he doesn't want him to break out. Utter nonsense. What happened the year Cal ended up scrapping his more highly rated point guard in favor of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander? What happened last season when Cal got ripped for benching Whitney? The best performers will get the minutes.

Now sure, the top rated players are going to get more leash. Anyone who thinks this team doesn't need Boston or Clarke to develop to be a real threat this season is smoking something. Allen's emergence (which we all hope continues) has made it less important, but it's still true. We need one of those guys to meet his potential, at least, and we'd prefer it be both of them. They've both shown flashes but haven't been consistent.

I’m not sure that was said or not but you’re being disingenuous here. Allen checked in first with about 12:30 left in the first half when he almost immediately hit a 3. I’m almost certain he was subbed in at least 3 times in the first half. He had made his 2nd 3 pointer prior to Cal getting ejected. Cal was playing him and all of you strange folks that think he doesn’t want Dontaie to be good so he can play Boston and Clarke more are insane. Would Cal have benched Boston like Bruiser did? I doubt it, but to say Allen didn’t get in until nearly halftime is absolute horse pucky.
You might be right about when he was inserted. Watching the game was like being in the nose bleed section which made if especially difficult to see the players or their numbers. However, I don't recall hearing his name mentioned until near the half.

You are so funny. For a minute I believed you were serious, LOL. A star is born! You have the potential to be a standup comic.

Also, if you think either of those two players will develop here, I am not sure which program you have been watching since Cal arrived. Players actually develop once they leave Kentucky and not while at Kentucky.

Just saying, your first paragraph puts you in competition with Doug Pederson and Coach Cal for Pinocchio of the year. I know we are just 3 days into the year but you are off to a good start.

Why was Cal laughing when he was congratulating Allen in the clip? I don't mean anything by it...just asking. It seemed like a nervous laugh to me. As I said in other posts, I respect a lot of your opinions so I though I would ask.
Some people are just like that, I was telling my dad the story of the game earlier as he turned it off before halftime and I went through kinda each one of Dontaie’s shots and he laughed progressively harder as I was relaying it to him.

Cal was happy for him nothing more.

if Cal doesn’t play Allen for significant minutes in the Vandy game then Cal should be investigated for throwing games.

I would have agreed with you a few games ago but if you don't think Cal wanted Allen to fail in the MS State game, you don't know how life works.

Cal knows that he resisted playing Allen in spite of pressure from the fans. Allen playing the way he did makes Cal look like a dumb*** the way it has.

You don't think Cal saw that coming?

We have known for a better part of a week that Cal was playing Allen vs Miss St. He brought it up multiple times when asked after Louisville game. I don't think our basketball coach wanted Allen to fail.

Cal has always played his nba talent ahead of more deserving players. He did it just last year (Whitney over IQ) and he's done it all this year. Boston and Clarke have struggled, yet Cal has continued to start them and play them 35+ mpg. I mean, Boston is shooting 15% from 3 and has a fg % around 35. Do you mean to tell me that Allen would ever sniff the court if he shot like that?
At other programs, Clarke and Boston would get 15 minutes a game playing the way they are. The juniors and seniors would be the ones out there, but not here, not where the NBA draft is more important than winning games.
Allen didn't just learn how to shoot on Friday, the kid averaged… .AVERAGED 42ppg in HS. You don't average 42ppg if you are an okay player, no, you are an elite scorer when you average that much.
We struggle to reach 65ppg as a team. Boston and Clarke can't hit the broad side of a barn, but an elite scorer sat on the bench. Some games he never got a single second of pt, one game he got in for 20 seconds.
2 + 2 = 4. It's that simple. We struggle to score, you have two guys that can't score, in the game, but you have an elite scorer on the bench. Here's a hint… .pull the two brick layers and put the elite scorer in. Voila, problem solved.
The only problem with your premise is that when he got in the games he was a mason.........if he had been stroking the ball Cal would have left him in..........

Okay, so Allen missed a couple shots, what do you call what Boston has been doing?
You just contradicted yourself and proved my point.
Allen is a 45% three point shooter and he proves it every day in practice, yet he went multiple games and never saw the floor. He got ZERO minutes in 2 straight games and 20 seconds in the next game.
Boston is a 15% shooter from 3 point range and has a 30% overall fg percentage, yet he's getting 35 minutes per game, he's a volume shooter and continues to take shots that make no sense. He even struggles to hit 6 footers. He isn't just bad, he's a historically awful shooter.
If Allen comes in the game tomorrow night and hits a couple more threes, it proves that Allen could have been the difference between winning and losing those 6 games.
If the NBA draft wasn't such a priority, Boston wouldn't get 10 minutes per game, but Cal runs this program for the NBA draft.
