We definitely need to play more up tempo and full court defense but shoot 50 3’s? Maybe 20-30
Blasphemy I know but I miss the Kentucky Pitino teams that pressed and bombed from 3 on you. Those were fun to watch.

We are a good shooting team, probably one of Cal’s best, but we have no business shooting 30+ threes a game. Maybe 20 at the most. Reid, PJ, and EJ are too good in the post. We gotta feed them. The prerequisite to that is getting them good touches. That’s our biggest flaw in offense right now, that and turnovers.
You make a good point here.
It is a uniquely constructed team in the sense that you have a few guys who are good on the blocks, but take up space in an offense predicated on spacing, getting into the lane and finding shooters.
Cal is having to adjust to the personnel and you will see a few new/different sets from prior years.
We should be shooting at least 20 a game.

More 3's I agree, faster tempo work inside out but 50 I don't see, around 25 or so.
Gaurantee me they won't get to FF again. In March you will be saying, I won't watch another game.
I am talking about trying a wide open offense the next few games. Cal can yell go until his heart is content.
Surely you realize that in a game where one team has superior talent to the other that the more possessions the superior talent gets the more likely they are to win.

I think your coach actively wants an image of white. Even when he wants to use the black players to win games, he STILL has a bench of white guys to mix it up. He's an old school coach that believes you need white players on the court to offset and "settle" the typical "black athlete". Is this too much truth? Because I 100% believe he thinks that. He wants white players, you cannot deny it. He recruits at the top of the chain but will still make sure there are white players on his teams.
I can give you many Kentucky teams without white players because as the times changed we changed. Black players are better in general so we became darker. Lol. Common sense.
Duke recruits the best of the best and will still, somehow, end up with many white players out of nowhere. Why? How?
UNC has had many majority (nearly all) black teams. Kentucky has. Kansas has. UCLA has.

So why is Duke the only blue blood that hoards white players? And dont bring up academics either, because it's easier to get into Duke to play basketball than UK. It's also a bit uh...racist? So when Duke fans say that it just makes me laugh.

Nothing more fun to watch than a nasty defense. Our offense will keep coming along nicely. Washington just added a HUGE new dimension.
The best basketball is about having a multidimensional offense so you can score in many ways and are hard to defend. They should have 50 to 60 2pt attempts per game, and 15 to 20 3pt attempts.

There is an average of about 100 shots per game. About 30 of those are taken at the free throw line. Let's assume 40 shots from 3 range and the balance of 30 shots taken from inside the arc.
If we hit 40% of 3s, 70% of free throws, and 50% of 2s we end up with 48 + 21 + 30 = 99 points. Interesting. Doable?
And I take it you love us standing around with a thumb up our ***, giving up baselines, getting trashed off the dribble, failing to rotate or pickup, etc. because if we don’t fix the defense, the most success we’re going to have is against the little sisters.

40% is a very high percentage, and is unattainable if shooting so many. Certainly, player can hit that shooting percentage, but to throw-up forty 3s would certainly be forcing some - resulting a lower percentage attempts.
And if a team becomes so reliant on the arc, the defense will follow. So the shots will either be taken away or guarded. The latter will also lower that percentage considerably .
So, no - i dont think it is doable.
