No, just a bunch of realists that know he's getting a third year so they don't run down the steet screaming FIRE!! as it's a fool's errand.
High likelihood he is brought back for a third year, but I'm not convinced it is 100%.

Is there even a single factor that the people evaluating his performance can point to as a positive or a hopeful sign for the future?

He has won a handful of big games both seasons, but other than that, the case for keeping him really doesn't exist. They have to see that too.

lol, take out a loan and fire Poop. You made me smile as I leave for the year. Take care and just don't get hooked into one of those 24 month promotional loans unless you make sure to pay it of after 23 months, lol.

I actually agree that there's a chance he is done. I don't think so, but definitely the door is slightly ajar.

LOL, they're not going to buy out his contract at this point, especially not without knowing who the new AD will be. Once the portal process has started if a change hasn't been made, there's not going to be one.

This is me.

Me saying “he’s not getting fired” isn’t me endorsing Pope. I just live in reality and complaining about ish I can’t control is a waste of time and energy.

He either gets it right next year or gets out.

Again, I don't think it's likely at all, but any new AD will know basketball is the key to his success at UK.

If he is competent at all, then he will also know that he has the wrong person running the team.

That makes me think there is a slight chance he makes a big move right out of the gate and replaces Pope with "his man".

Honestly, I hope you're right.

That happens a lot of the time, new AD comes in with his man. The climate around here is right for a change. I think that’s one reason Barney announced his retirement soon, where he wouldn’t have to fire Pope because he doesn’t think it will work out either.

That's not acceptable. You have to be mad and talk about it in every thread regardless of the topic

To a team without their best player. And yet, there are people on here who think Pope is the man for the job
Today was unequivocally one of the worst coaching jobs I have seen in awhile. We would have received better coaching from a youth league volunteer. I wasn’t happy with pope before today but this was just awful beyond words.

Not yet … only thing would be some major recruiting wins in the next few weeks.

Isn't that Barnhart you're referring to? And we all know how he HATES to fire coaches. Remember the "microwave" comment directed at fans during the Joker era?
And hasn't MB said he would never fire a coach on his way out the door? That it would be too stressful for the incoming AD to have to deal with?
I have ZERO confidence that Pope's seat is even remotely warm in Barnhart's world.

I will be glad if most move on. This was one of the worst teams I have seen . Can’t dribble , pass or play defense. I forgot stupid fouls complete choke job. What do they practice?

I kinda sensed a bad omen when we got called for palming. I’m watching Florida and Iowa now have seen quite a bit of it with nothing being called. In fact the whole year teams have been doing it, I’ve mentioned it several times, and of course they call one against us, this sh— funny and never going to end.

How do you know he would be let go next year if things end up similar to this? That’s my fear. I have zero faith or belief in University of Kentucky athletics drive to win.

I think the decision makers at the university dont care about winning as long as the atheltic department is profitable and believe the fans should feel the same way.
