Tennessee was tired and on the verge of giving up, but we decided to slow everything down and Tennessee got their legs back.
your exactly right coach!! I was sitting right behind the UK bench and I heard Cal say.."slow it down..let's let them back in the game"..dude you are good..

And Barnes went to press and zone. Imagine a coach adjusting?

Do you think they are? By the way, I don't expect the Freshmen to be. It's what happens when you don't have more experience. UT is uber-experienced and that helped them.
Unless this is a stance you’ve had for awhile (wouldn’t make it right, but at least you’d be consistent), making that kind of judgement off of one game (particularly this game) is silly. This was basically an elite eight/final four game.

Better to have this happen now than in a week.

We looked the part of an elite team. We went blow for blow with one of the top 6 teams in the country. We're in it.

I tend to think a loss refocuses a team. However, UT beating the hell out of us a few weeks ago was that loss.

Up 7 or 8 with 3 minutes to go--gotta pull that out.
It may pay dividends if we’re up 8 with three to go in the tournament. Or they could forget and do it again, that was certainly a lesson if they are in the receiving mood.

Neither are NBA 1st rounders this year. Not sure Hagans would get drafted at all right now. Both can be first rounds if they stick around another year or two but not right now. Tonight it showed. They both got eaten alive by less talented players who are more developed.
Good points but unfortunately they'll both get "positive" feedback from the scouts after working out with certain teams. If either are back I'll be shocked.

Championship caliber teams respond well to adversity. Giving up a 8 point lead with 3 minutes left is a choke. Even with refs calling crap all game long we built that lead. I think we thought the game was over with 3 minutes left. Plus, Cal ALWAYS plays not to lose with a lead late in the game. Again, that approach comes back to bite us in the ***.
Final Four teams do not let leads like this slip away when the game is on the line. They did get a lot of help from the officials but it still should have never happened. The turnovers on Herro and Hagans at the end are inexcusable at this level. This is a prime example of why college basketball is considered to be a guard's game.

I just don't care for stall ball with 5 minutes left and team is on a run. Just takes the air out of it
