After another year of strength of conditioning, a more developed and mature culture, the only thing that will stop us is injuries because we still won't be too deep. If we stay healthy, we may not need a punter next year ;)

A team that went 4-8 isnt going to be a preseason favorite to go 12-0...

I’m about as big of an optimist about this first season with frost as anyone, but predicting that we are going to be a favorite in every game is the same type of fantisy that led to people being pissed about the results of this season

I think there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful but let’s not get crazy and start drifting into absurdism. Unrealistic expectations lead to discontent and meltdowns

there's a large difference between being favored in every game and being favored to go 12-0.

We will be top 25 pre-season IMO, 4-2 in the last 6, should have been 7-5 overall if 3 or 4 plays would have been made.
3 or 4 plays will kill lots of teams. Just ask Iowa about last minute scores.

11-1, future is bright!!!

You want to win 9 or 10 games like the 80s and thennget rolled by a legit team. Sooooo proud. Lol if you think this team is top 40. We won 4 games against a backup QB. Was Minn our big win? We started 11 seniors. Iowa started 4. We have a ton of 5.6 3*s coming in. Woo hoo

8-4 on the low side and 12-0 on the high side. I'm handicapping an 11-1 season, beating O State and losing a game we shouldn't. Of course, the entire season comes down to a healthy Martinez
Don’t forget we have an experienced Vedral and Bunch plus we bring in McCaffrey. Depth won’t be quite the issue it was this season.

Depends on if the Huskers are in the top 50 in total defense. Otherwise, I say 8-4.

It will be interesting to see what Vegas comes out with.

It's an awful long time until next season, so predictions don't make much sense. However, I have not been this excited about the next season since 2010. Guys are finally started to get it, on both sides of the ball. We don't have a lot of seniors on the roster that are playing. A lot of young talent is returning. Aiming the crossfire at the conference title game is not out of the question.

I really believe Frost can get this team where it needs to be to be competing for championships. Not sure if it'll be next year, but it'll come soon enough. Guy has been around successful teams as a player and a coach. He knows what this team is missing and is going to do everything he can to replicate that success here.

I get sick and tired of the whiner's that expected instant glory when Frost got here as this is only year 1 and the Oline will be much better in year 2 Iowa's D was actually ranked as high as they were for a reason. Sheesh
These posters don’t seem to understand the battle Frost had of removing the stench that Mike Riley had on the program. You could see that start to evaporate with the transfers and benching of players halfway through the season. They now start the offseason bought into a winner, not a loser. That will make a big difference next season.

We get a real pass rush and no reason we can’t be 12-0. With similar push to this year. We lose to OSU, Wisconsin, and a couple of others. We have to be able to pressure the QB without sending everyone on 3rd and 4th and long. We need a DL player that finishes like Suh.

Bingo.... no pass rushers at all of substance on this team....

11-1, future is bright!!!
S Alabama - W, likely a blowout
CU - W, should be favored
NIU - W, likely a blowout
Illinois - W, likely a blowout
Ohio St - L, this will be the game that lets the nation know what Frost has working in Lincoln. Slight lean to Ohio St
Northwestern - W, we had around 90 penalty yards if to their 5 penalty yards. We were 0-6 and they had to march 90+ yards (bailed out by penalties) to go to OT and won by a field goal. Chances are slim to none that they get all the breaks again
Minn - W, likely a blowout
Indiana - W, this could be a nail biter but I give us a slight lean
Purdue - W, we don’t give up another 140 yards in penalties again. I’ll give us a slight advantage
Wisconsin - L, our run defense has to improve and be able to last 4 quarters or we won’t win. Strong lean to Bucky
Maryland - W, likely a blowout. They lose 4 of 5 on their OLine which is never good unless you recruit like Saban
Iowa - L, our run defense has to improve or this will be another nail biter. Since our DLine is still a questionable I’ll give a slight lean to Iowa

So much to be excited about. I can easily see 9-3 or 8-4. I also wouldn’t be shocked to see us win all 12. The best part is our fans have proven we’ll support the team regardless of our record. The rest of the country expects nothing from us so likely any record will be seen as positive momentum!

Next season can’t get here soon enough!

Favorable schedule for sure but I don't think 11-1 with our defense. Put me down for 8-4.

Yup. A lot to be hopeful about, but O needs to be more consistent and special teams and D need plenty of work. Way too many ? for me to be predicting double digits in the “win”
column at this point. Guys will get stronger, understand the system a little better, and coaches have a much better grasp on the situation starting next season, so should be fun. Improve throughout the year and go to a good bowl game.

I would say 7-5. I think 9-3 or 6-6 is the high/low water marks.

We almost beat NW and Iowa on there fields in year 1. What makes you think we lose to both at home in year 2??
