Bamba already 0 for 2 from three point land. Why is he even out that far?

I'll take my chances with Richards. Shaka's a joke.

Bamba as a shot blocker is probably going to be on another level player vs player but as a whole what we got is number 7 in country overall. Were fine there.

Might be a blessing in disguise.

Cal is playing SKJ and Wynyard. They would not be getting minutes with Bamba in there with Richards.

Gives those two guys a chance to get game experience this year, stay engaged as integral parts of the team, and be key pieces next season.

I think what you’re trying to say is “I like my team”

14, 9 and 5 blocks a game is definitely desirable.

They've played THE worst competition I've ever seen the first 3 games. Butler was pretty terrible as well tonight..their 4th game. Let's see how he shapes up against Duke tomorrow. I bet he gets exposed.

Yup.

We would be better this year with Bamba, but we will be better next year with experienced Junior big men (SKJ and Wynyard).

After missing on Bol, that could be huge.

It proves he played well against dog crap teams, no more no less. Send me his stats tomorrow vs. Duke.

I'll try and remember.

25, 16 and 3 or whatever Richards had last night is still 25, 16 and 3 in that case.

You're absolutely right. Except Richards' game was way above the norm whereas Bamba has been consistently around the same numbers every game this season.

Gotta hope Richards can keep it up. That'd be awfully nice.

And Richards has played like crap against dog crap teams. Sorry but Richards doesn’t come close to Bamba. Bamba is a sure fire top 5 pick based on both potential and talent. Richards MIGHT be a first round pick based solely on potential.

I’d feel safe making a $1,000 bet that Richards will never be as good as Bamba. Bamba is just better. Better than basically any freshman not named Bagley.

He's not better than Ayton or Young or Porter, but he's pretty good.

So Richards' stat-line is impressive despite weak competition, but Bamba's isn't? Ok

In 25 minutes.

He's averaging 10 rpg and 4+ blocks per game.

Why hate on this dude. He would probably score more at UK because Cal wouldn't let him shoot so much jump shots until he proves inside game.

I don’t think anyone is focusing on the negatives. It’s simply a conversation about a kid we recruited playing well. Once again, and I can’t believe I have to keep saying this but these message boards are built for conversation. We all wanted Bamba and he’s better than Richards but hopefully Richards builds on that last game and he becomes really good. Nobody’s hating on him. Just pointing out that Bamba is really good

Yes, but you have to hold your nose when you say it. I suppose by that logic, you'd be impressed by any low D1 guy who averages 14/9/5 against other low D1 guys.

Regardless of competition 14, 9 and 5 against whoever you're playing is still 14, 9, and 5. Don't really see why anyone would wanna downplay that. You can only play who's on your schedule and putting up those numbers is still putting up those numbers. No one plays only top 10 teams every game. Don't be silly.

Bamba shooting crazy jumpers is exactly why he went to texas. He knew he could do what he wanted there.

Hes better than Richards right now but weve seen that before. Higher rated player goes elsewhere and has little/no improvement. Whereas the kids at UK generally have drastic improvement.

By march itll be about even. Richards has insane reach too, a really smooth stroke to go with it, and a more nba ready body.

Could have sworn UK's center had 25 and 15 last night. He's way ahead of where most thought and has 25 pounds on Bamba. I'm good with NIck, love his shooting stroke!

Bamba’s a top 5 pick who can change the game defensively.

Having two of those types of players on the interior would have given UK an advantage over anyone this year in March.

It’s okay to admit we lost a stud. It happens. We still have some talented players who will have to make shots in March to advance. Same tune we always sing. We’ll see how it plays out.

Richards is elite, but Bamba will have at least twice as many blocks as Richards this season. He’s as good as they come at rim protection.

Bamba is an elite athlete for sure and I wanted him at UK badly...

Richards has an amazing touch on his shot and is tremendous at the free throw line.

One thing is for sure...

Richards is gonna have a long NBA career!!
